I love the bold, yet basic, good looks of this Salvatore G Icona Teodora. The price? Well, that’s another matter entirely.

The glossy exterior is made from PVC coated canvas. It’s not as luxurious as leather, but it’s a lot more practical if you’re using this tote as your everyday handbag. Spills and stains just wipe away with a damp cloth, leaving your purse looking pristine for longer. The boxy design is classic tote, but it’s given a fresh twist with a hot pink fabric and contrast stitching. I love this bold girly color, but if it’s a little too sugary for you tone things down with the sand tote.

The spacious interior is generous enough to hold everything you need to get through the day, and a few luxuries besides. All these goodies will stay organized thanks to the internal slip pocket, zip pocket, and cell phone pouch. The dual straps are far too short for over the shoulder carrying, but the rolled leather padding ensures they’ll at least feel comfortable in your hand.

If this were a high-quality leather tote, I could swallow the $1050 retail price. But for PVC coated canvas? I’m sure you’ll all agree that Salvatore Ferragamo or not, that cost is a little steep!

Okay, well, even though this designer is new on Bag Bunch, I am confident that he needs no introduction. And even if you don’t know his name, you’d know his designs anywhere. That wooden-heeled patent peep toe that’s been popular for years was his idea, and you would recognize the blood red soles of his shoes from a mile away. But, in case you didn’t know, Christian Louboutin doesn’t stop with the shoes. Lucky for us, he makes bags as well.

Known for his timeless, classic, and yet trendsetting touch, this Pliage Clutch is no exception. The color is so subtle, delicate, and nude that you could pair it with almost anything else, although I would prefer it stand alone in a sea of black and diamonds. The gentle scalloped pleating is a traditional and ladylike touch on a bag that is already feminine to the core.

I love the goldtone shoe clasp at the top. It is a quirky element that adds a subtle sense of humor to the bag, and is better than a logo any day. I also love that the shoes include the trademark red sole. How cheeky! And the red, satin-lined interior provides the perfect contrast when you peek inside.

At 8″ x 4″ x 2″, this is not a clutch that is following the oversized trend. It is classic clutch sized, and honestly, on a big night out, it’s all you need to carry your compact and keys. At $995 retail, it’s a little expensive for a clutch, but pretty reasonable considering how much wear you could get out of it. And who wouldn’t mind making this their signature event item?

I love the irreverent style of Paul Smith accessories, even if I can’t always fancy myself carrying them! His Coin Union Jack Laptop Bag was probably a little loud for everyone but Stephen Fry. But this cute Union Jack wallet offers the same level of Brit love in a much less flamboyant package.

The smooth leather is patterned with an almost watercolor Union Jack flag. The pastel tones are far less obnoxious than a bold red, white, and blue, so you’ll find it a lot easier to incorporate into your wardrobe. But don’t mistake the lighter treatment for Paul Smith going soft. In offering a less traditional flag, Paul’s again showing his individuality.

So many designer wallets sacrifice style for substance, but not this one. Despite its small stature, this Union Jack purse is packed with features. There’s a large zippered coin section, and two expanding pockets for folded notes and receipts. I only wish there were more card slots. Any modern girl knows four just isn’t enough!

This wallet seems far too small to justify its £175 asking price, but fans of Paul Smith’s original styling may still be swayed.

Most of us are feeling the pinch of the financial crisis and tightening our belts. But not British popette Lily Allen. She reportedly spent a whopping £100,000, or $143,000 US, on designer clothes and accessories last year.

Those luxury labels just don’t come cheap. In a recent interview with The New York Times Lily showed off her wardrobe, which has an entire section devoted to Chanel.

“It’s awesome, isn’t it?” she cooed. And it probably is. Her Chanel shrine is flanked by some choice pieces by Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, and other designers guaranteed to make us mere mortals drool!

Plenty have criticized Lily for her indulgent habit, but let’s be fair. Sure, that money would probably have been better spent helping poverty-stricken villages and AIDS orphans. But that sort of cash injection has got to help the economy! Maybe Lily’s just doing her part to prop up the fashion industry!

The “Smile” singer has taken the condemnation in her stride, commenting “It’s a lot of money. People say how terrible I look all the time, but imagine if I didn’t spend £100,000 on clothes.”

I love Tignanello for its affordable variety of quality handbags. They always have classic designs with practical features for everyday use. They also seem to stick to finding the best leather possible for their price range and using it creatively.

I can only assume that the Touchables Tote got its name from the buttery soft leather used to construct it. This Tignanello handbag, though available in a rainbow of colors, is a standout in the combination of white, brown, and powder blue. The triangular blue panels are the perfect complement to the solid white while the light brown gives the bag a natural look.

Designers seem to be making a statement about age in relation to beauty these days. With timeless gals like Ines de la Fressange hitting the runway, models in their 40s and 50s are showing the infantile models of today how it’s done.

As previously rumored, Jerry Hall has made a sexy comeback with Chanel’s new accessories catalog. The scantily clad 52-year old is shown in a Chanel bag-covered bed with male model Baptiste Giabiconi beside her looking besotted or maybe just overwhelmed by her seductive appeal.

Somehow I think Lagerfeld’s choice of model has more to do with preference than advertising cutbacks, and I have to applaud him. Hall was a great choice for the Mrs. Robinson storyline in the campaign.

Considering how most aging models must feel in the critical fashion world today, this new look keeps me interested in what’s coming next … and in one of those gorgeous Chanel bags, of course.

The sleek minimalism that Michael Kors is known for has, in the past few years, gone straight out the window. In the late 90’s, the Kors label was something like a religion for models, but lately, not so much. Perhaps his stint on Project Runway and subsequent surge in popularity have something to do with this, I’m not sure. But with the decline of his elite audience has come an increase in popularity amongst us common consumers. All that being said, this clutch is not for the common consumer.

Truth be told, I can’t really figure out whether I like this bag or not. I am instinctively drawn to the rich shades of blue, teal, and green, but am somewhat put off by the busy-ness of the design. The combination of textures is interesting, but not exactly insightful. Python, which on its own is so sumptuous and delicate, seems not to need the addition of so many baubles, particularly when it has already been dyed such unnatural shades.

This is not one of those “lipstick on a pig” situations, then, it’s more like Michael Kors is gilding the lily here. Not only do the jewels distract from the natural beauty of the python, but I shudder to think at what would happen to the clutch if one of them got caught on something. I daresay that one small pull on one of those beads could rip a large hole right through this $1,495 clutch.

This is a small bag that makes a big statement. The real problem is that I’m just not sure what it’s trying to say.
