With nearly every handbag brand, there’s sure to be a logo-printed collection to showcase the company’s emblem. Coach and Dooney & Bourke are probably the most infamous and easily recognizable prints for this marketing ploy, but other brands try valiantly to follow suit.

The only problem, however, is that people generally love to display the brand’s logo all over their bag as a symbol status. That works well for Coach but not as much for Tignanello, I’m sure. Though they gave their best effort with this Printed Pebble Shopper, it just cannot be compared to the more popular and distinctive labels.

Don’t misunderstand me, though. I’m a fan of Tignanello handbags as they tend to be stylish, practical, and very decently priced. The Perfect 10 Tote is a prime example of that. While the Printed Pebble collection isn’t my favorite from the brand, it’s not one to overlook completely. The print, while obviously Tignanello’s logo, isn’t overly obnoxious as some of these types of bags can be. It’s actually one of the more subtle logo-printed handbags I’ve come across.

Though not real leather, the Printed Pebble Shopper is a generous size and has a simple, classic shape. The long double straps seem sturdy and practical for long days out. I can just imagine all the things I could pile into this tote while shopping.

At only $79, this Tignanello handbag is very affordable. You’ll even get two for the price of one with the bonus of a matching wristlet that attaches to a d-ring inside the large interior. The Printed Pebble collection offers a variety of colors and also has a gathered top version of this shopper.

Gwen Stefani’s fledgling line L.A.M.B. has quickly become know for its quirky, offbeat takes on both retro and modern designs. The line’s liberal use of color combined with trendy detailing make their offerings stand out in a crowd.

This bag is so eye-catching that I literally ran across Chapel Street in New Haven to get a better look at it. I had already pegged it for L.A.M.B., and on closer inspection, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The best thing about this clutch is the way it combines totally 80’s elements like neon patent leather and rouching with fine details like the tan leather trim. It makes for an extremely of-the-moment bag with a distinctive touch of class.

I love the way the soft pouch shape of the clutch is offset by more structural components, like the yellow side tabs. The full zipper top opens onto a spacious 15″ x 7″ x 3″ compartment, which, I think in combination with the color palette makes it a bag that can go from day to night with little difficulty.The tan studded fob at the front of the clutch and the silver stud straps add a punk edge to this beautifully off-kilter accessory.

In the past, I have felt a little dubious about the return to neon we have seen in the past few seasons, as it so frequently comes off as cheap and played out, but if there’s more of this out there, I might just change my mind.

Karl Lagerfield’s former assistant Arnaud Maillard is on the publicity trail again, following the German release of his tell-all book, Merci Karl. I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone that Chanel’s creative director is a self-absorbed, pompous snot. But you might be surprised just how self-involved he really is!

“He’s an unbelievable narcissist,” Mr. Arnaud told Spiegel. “He needs an eternity to get ready in the morning. He takes photos of himself at every photo shoot and puts them everywhere.”

He adds that Karl “dumps people at the drop of a dime,” particularly if they are voices of dissent.

“He surrounds himself with a kind of royal court, nobody disagrees with him,” Mr. Arnaud confirmed. “He can also be merciless. I’ve seen him simply stop talking to people, stop acknowledging their existence. In the fashion industry, nobody raises their voice; they say the worst things in a very polite tone.”

As you might expect, Karl loves to be pampered. He uses the world’s most expensive body cream from La Prairie twice a day, even slathering the stuff between his toes. But don’t think Karl does everything himself. What’s the point of having a “royal court” if they’re not attending to you?

“Wherever he goes, there is Pepsi-Cola in a Baccarat crystal glass waiting for him and it gets replaced every 30 minutes. It’s like the 18th century.”

His handbags might be stunning, but it sounds like Karl is a real piece of work!

The SAK is one of many modern designers recognizing that green is the new black. The crocheted Eco Harmony Shopper didn’t win me over, but the Pax Eco Canvas Tote just might.

All those birds and blooms do look a little busy, but the colorful pattern is ideal for gadding about on summer days. Just don’t expect it to work in a formal setting.

Somehow I don’t think you’ll mind too much though. The practical design means this tote will get plenty of daytime use. The roomy interior, lined with 100% recycled cotton, has ample space for your everyday essentials and a few luxuries besides. You’ll also enjoy the generous side pockets, which provide a handy place for stashing the items you want at your fingertips.

My only concern is security. The open top design does offer easy access, but without so much as a zippered pocket I’m a little paranoid about my valuables. But perhaps I’m not the type of girl the Pax is supposed to dazzle. While I’m uptight about those details, the Pax’s easy, breezy style is bound to appeal to boho babes that don’t sweat the small stuff.

After five years in the prestigious position of CEO for Versace, Giancarlo di Risio is leaving. The breaking news has incited talk of clashes between him and the luxury company’s family, particularly with Donatella Versace.

Rumors abound that the soon-to-be-former CEO and Donatella disagreed on how to cut costs for the label. It’s unclear which side di Risio landed on, but publicly for the company he had this to say earlier this year:

“In Via Montenapoleone or in Via Condotti, you could already buy goods at half price in mid-November,” reports Vogue. “This policy is ruining a market which, given that it is at the high end, should be more protected. For me, fans of sales are different to regular buyers,” he added.

If you believe what he said, it provides a little insight into the possible argument. Either way, di Risio is out with no news yet on a replacement. The obvious bet is someone who’s a little more deferential to the queen bee of Versace. It’s just a guess, though.
