The rumors of astronauts in a Louis Vuitton ad have come true. Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell, and Sally Ride are all featured in the newest ad for the brand.

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz recently shot the campaign amidst the backdrop of the warm Californian desert. The three space travelers posed with an old pick-up truck and, of course, a Louis Vuitton handbag, the Icare travel bag.

The ad campaign’s release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 mission, which was the first manned mission to land on the moon and Buzz Aldrin’s major claim to fame. It has been reported that all three astronauts donated a “significant” amount of their compensation for the campaign directly to Al Gore’s Climate Project.

I have spent the past few days shopping for the perfect summer tote. Not that I don’t have five million beachbags, they’re spilling out of my closet by the bucketload. This Anya Hindmarch Meat And Poultry Tote might just be it. I know the irreverent graphic won’t please everyone, but personally, I love it. I have no idea what three chickens have to do with the phrase “Meat and Poultry”, but I love the rustic blue ink and handmade looking style of the drawing. 

The cream canvas is strong, durable, and washable, and the tan leather straps add a hint of class to the offbeat design. The bag is large enough for everyday errand running, grocery shopping, and I can definitely see a lot of women incorporating this feminine bag into their beach repertoire. 

And, it’s under $100, which is great for such a versatile accessory. Of course, at $98, it’s only slightly under a hundred, but still. I might stay on the lookout for that perfect summer tote, but in terms of quality and affordability, this bag has definitely made the short list.

Even if you’re not a fan of horseback riding and, like me, have no idea how a pelham bit works, you’ll most likely still appreciate this equestrian-style Gucci handbag inspired by the riding equipment.

I can’t help but imagine it rocking back and forth or falling right over. However, that might not be much of an issue since I’m sure many owners of Gucci handbags don’t have a tendency to set their treasures down just anywhere.

The English riding inspiration for the shoulder bag is seen on the braided handles as well as the horse-bits on the front and back of the purse. The cream-colored leather on these details is a nice, light contrast to the brown and beige print. Overall, the Pelham is a classy, little number that will appeal to plenty of Gucci-loving gals.

Jimmy Choo is famous for sexy stiletto heels and red-carpet ready purses, but the designer is now dressing down for charity. The fashion house has created some cute casual shoes and handbags to raise funds for the Sir Elton John AIDS Foundation.

These limited edition items are part of Project PEP, an initiative to help support the Simelela Rape Center in Cape Town, South Africa. One quarter of the accessory sales will help the charity provide the vital HIV preventative medication Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to abuse victims, as well as offering counseling and support.

The cause is close to the label’s heart, as Jimmy Choo founder and president Tamara Mellon worked with Elton John on the auction project 4 Inches. This landmark program helped to secure the Simelela Center’s future.

Each Project PEP accessory features a signature laminated print starring iconic Jimmy Choo hallmarks, such as snakeskin, grommet laden leather, a scribbled phone number of the brand’s London store, and a picture of Ms Mellon gracing the cover of Vogue Italia.

“It’s a whole collage of the DNA of Jimmy Choo,” Tamara Mellon explained.

The print covers tote bags, clutches, sandals, ballet shoes, and summer-ready flip flops. Prices start from $95 for the flip flops, up to $995 for the large handbag. The Project PEP collection will hit Jimmy Choo boutiques and department stores in November.
