Emma Watson, is currently glamming up the fall Burberry campaign, but it seems the Harry Potter heroine has no real loyalty to the brand. In the current issue of Teen Vogue, the teen starlet declared Chanel to be her favorite designer!

“It’s kind of my lucky brand [Chanel], a fail-safe,” she said.

That’s probably no big shock. After all, Emma has worn Chanel almost everywhere, from awards nights to film premieres. But it’s more surprising that Emma dropped plenty of other fashionable names, but not Burberry’s.

“I live, really, in jeans from Topshop, blazers from Ralph Lauren or Reiss, and ballet flats. It’s very hard to describe your own style and I’m young, so I’m still experimenting. But I think it’s quite British and very much about individuality. There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect – you lose the point. You want what you’re wearing to say something about you, about who you are,” Emma continued.

Something tells me the bigwigs at Burberry won’t be too happy that they seemed to have slipped her mind!

Some of Versace’s up-and-coming handbag designers met recently at the Whitney Art Museum in New York City. The designing brainstorm session wasn’t quite the scene that you might be picturing right now, though.

With markers and papers in hand, Donatella Versace joined several kids from the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the first Art Unites event, a program sponsored by the fashion label and the Whitney that will provide art supplies to hundreds of children from Starlight as well as the One Foundation in China.

The lucky teens involved in the art project at the Whitney the other night will have the honor of seeing their hand-drawn pictures on Versace handbags. The public can support Art Unites by purchasing the designs at the label’s boutiques and Gilt Groupe in the near future. All proceeds from the $200 totes will benefit Starlight and One Foundation.

“We have to give back when we’re successful,” Donatella told The Huffington Post. She noted that every time she’s with children, “they’re smiling and so happy just to see me. They don’t expect anything from me … and I chose art for the project because art is, for me, an expression of emotion.”

The full name of this Kate Spade tote is quite a mouthful: the Happy Birthday Quinn Fairchild Gardens tote. I can’t even begin to understand the meaning of the title, which is why, for the sake of space and not causing confusion, we’ll just call it the Fairchild Gardens tote for this review.

As sometimes printed canvas bags can appear, the flowers on this purse seemed to have been hand painted directly on the material. It definitely gives it that artisan look that I like so much.

Though the Fairchild Gardens might be most appropriate for spring, I think it would still be a stylish choice for the summer season as well. With its sunny yellow blooms, it’s like carrying a bouquet around on your shoulder.

I’m reminded of the Dooney & Bourke Cindy tote with its lilies, but I do believe I like the look of this Kate Spade better than the D&B because of the Fairchild’s simpler print. The brown vachetta leather trims off the cotton canvas beautifully, and Kate Spade’s signature gold-plated hardware and logo finish the tote in style.

And for the biggest impression, I’d choose this kiwi green bag. It’s just a little bit different, and definitely in keeping with the crocodile theme. Traditionalists are catered for too with a black purse, and a purple which one hovers somewhere in between classic and daring.

They all feature the same glossy patent finish, which isn’t real leather but is no less impressive for it. The gleaming finish is subtly patterned with crocodile scales and a shiny turn-lock closure. We see more of that dazzling silver hardware in the chunky handle buckles and the Maxx New York logo tag.

This is a small bag, but it’s so well organized that the clutter shouldn’t overwhelm you. Pockets in both side walls offer places for stashing your cell phone and spare change, so you’ll never have to scrounge for them at the bottom of your bag.

The Del Posto Croco isn’t the cheapest mock croc bag you’ll find at $144, but it is one of the cutest.

Comme des Garçons has launched a limited edition Black Label fashion range in answer to the financial crisis. The French label’s creative director Rei Kawakubo says the back-to-basics range is an “emergency reaction to the recession.”

Eleven Black Label outlets will open in some of the world’s fashion capitals. London’s Dover Street Market gets a store, Japan has six, while there’s one each in Seoul and Hong Kong. Barneys in New York and Colette in Paris will also carry the collection.

The range will feature some of Comme des Garçons most popular pieces in basic checkerboard, gingham, polka-dot, and floral prints. After all, in this financial crisis we’re all looking for wardrobe staples rather than fad pieces. But if you’re looking for real bargains, you may be disappointed. A mere T-shirt will set you back $90, while the jackets are priced around $630. I suppose the term “inexpensive” is all relatively when you’re speaking of luxury labels like Comme des Garçons!

Comme des Garçons Black Label will be available for 18 months only, with new items and one-off pieces regularly added to the range.

Yesterday I wrote about the Crystal Wallpaper clutch from Inge Christopher. This beaded beauty was “sugar and spice and all things nice.” Yes, it’s very pretty, but sometimes we feel like walking on the wild side. That’s when a sexy little purse like the Emily steps up.

A hard structured case is finished in bold mock crocodile scales. Purists may long for the genuine article, but you’re never going to get that for $50. This is one of the better imitations I’ve seen, and for that price I think that’s more than most would hope for!

Those looks are really what sells this purse. The hard casing means you’ll struggle to fit even the essentials inside. It’s long to be sure, but so skinny it requires careful packing to carry keys and a cell phone.

But practicality isn’t entirely abandoned, with the addition of a handy chain strap. You’ll need it when posing provocatively with a drink in one hand and an hors d’oeuvre in the other. The chain is bound to feel painful at the end of a party, but again we can’t expect too much for this money. Just don’t tuck it inside unless you want to limit your storage space even further!

Emily’s bad girl appeal is enhanced with a color palette that’s just as wild as she is. Fuchsia, almost black wine, and mustard are some of the bold choices available.

The Greek island of Santorini is well-known for its beautiful weather and gorgeous surroundings. Well, most of us can’t make it there for a summer vacation, but we can at least get a little piece of Greece from this fashionable Big Buddha tote.

The Santorini handbag comes in a myriad of color options, but I happen to love it best in the traditional blue seen on the country’s flag as well as the amazing color of the water. Shimmery gold seems like the perfect accent to the blue as it reminds me of warm, sunny days.

Of course, the most summery aspect of the Santorini tote is the straw material. It’s just the sort of bag you’d expect to take your towel, sunscreen, and cover-up to the beach.

The woven gold PVC strips add some pizazz, and makes it equally appropriate for a semi-casual daytime outfit. There’s also a bit of crocodile texture that adds to the effect.

This handbag’s size is very generous, which I’d expect from a tote. However, that doesn’t make it any less convenient. The zipper closure is another practical touch, and one that not all bags of this style have. For only $60, the woven Santorini handbag is a great way to add some splash to summer fashion.
