The time has come for a summery little wristlet from Juicy Couture.

The easy-going designer is the unchallenged king/queen of pink, and this tiny clutch doesn’t break the pattern. In soft patterned terry edged with bright feature hot pink leather, this bag screams girly from the rooftops. Or, at the least, it giggles it flirtily!

Thankfully the leather does keep this bag from going over-the-top and leaning towards tastelessness. The over-sized stitching and simple wrist handle are it’s saving grace. Whilst you still notice the contrasting fabrics and bright yellow print, it can look sophisticated with the right outfit.

For a wristlet of this size, you do get a lot of features and space. You even get interior pockets, though I do have to question just what the point of adding extra pockets is into such a limited space!

With cute braided zip tab and luxurious soft fabric, this fun and lightweight bag is surprisingly endearing. Perfect for summer, not so perfect for black tie events!

Another offering from the Kate Spade Savona collection, the Bri Hobo ventures a bit off of Spade’s usual preppy path with chic, minimalist style.

The smooth cowhide texture, pared down geometric stitching details and basic shape all work perfectly together for a bag that will accent many different styles in your wardrobe. Far from trendy, this will be a workhorse you can pull out in 10 years, as is the Kate Spade name.

This is perfectly styled to be an everyday bag, but I worry it’s a bit small for that. This is especially a concern since I think this bag will reveal every lumpy item you try to contain in it. My cosmetics bag would surely protrude awkwardly, giving the dreaded handbag tumor affect.

But, it does its best to offer organization with an exterior pocket and interior zip, cell phone and additional pockets.

Mad by Design keeps it simple with the Onyx Stingray tote.

The name is unique, but pretty self explanatory when you look at it. The Onyx part comes from the black finish. Black is classic yet contemporary, and so easy to coordinate with anything in your wardrobe. But if it’s not for you, the same stingray bag is available in other colors, including various shades of brown.

The Stingray of the moniker is an obvious reference to the shape. The narrow base and wide top mimic the silhouette of the marine animal. It’s so simple, yet such a striking look. In a move that’s sure to please animal lovers, it’s made of environmentally-friendly bamboo rather than stingray leather. The fabric isn’t just good for the planet; it keeps the price down and the tote lightweight.

It’s a good thing too, because those ring handles won’t feel comfortable once you start filling the tote up. The sad thing is, there’s so much space available. Yet with those hard handles, you’ll never be able to utilize it all comfortably.

The addition of a longer shoulder strap, and a few more colors in the collection would have been welcome. But for the bargain price of $54, I’m considering overlooking the shortcomings and embracing the Onyx Stingray’s good looks.

Miley Cyrus has proven herself as a television star, silver screen actress, and world class singer. Is there anything this pint-sized poppet can’t do? Well we’re about to see, with news Miley’s about to add fashion designer to her resume.

But she won’t go it alone. Miley is teaming up with red-carpet favorite Max Azria to create a junior fashion range for Walmart. The affordable and contemporary collection is set to include clothes, shoes, bags, and other accessories.

I must admit; I’m shocked Max Azria would stoop to releasing a department store range. This is the man who regularly dresses Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, and Angelina Jolie for the red carpet after all. But perhaps cash strapped teens deserve to enjoy Mr. Azria’s legendary style as well!

He does share a history with Miley, who he happily dressed for the 2009 Grammy Awards, so this isn’t completely left of field. She also plans to wear his designs for her Breakout tour this summer.

And Walmart has long realized the appeal of teen stars, showcasing collections by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Hilary Duff, and Taylor Swift in the recent past. I suppose a Miley Cyrus collection is the next logical step!

The Miley Cyrus and Max Azria for Walmart capsule line is scheduled to hit stores in August, just in time for the start of the new school year. All pieces are priced at less than $20.

7 For All Mankind is known for its designer denim, and even for helping put “premium denim” on the map back when everyone bought their jeans at The Gap and Express. They’ve been doing accessories for a few seasons now, and it seems like they’re definitely going the way they went with denim, gaining popularity with interesting details.

This Havana Hobo is full of exciting accents. My favorite is the pleated leather. It gives a sort of diagonal stripe affect to the bag. It’s pretty different to see this pleating technique used with patent or high-gloss hide.

Small buttons or same-color rivets accent the sides of the bag, concentrating where the pleats are tightest. They also adorn the strap of the bag, which could be a bit much for some people.

There is an outer pocket with a diagonal zip, and an interior zip pocket as well. This seems like it would make a practical everyday bag in this navy color or black. For more of a pop of color, you could check out the pink version.

Betsey Johnson is ready to move on to a new stage in her career, particularly the stage where she can ditch the commute and wake up with no plans for the day.

The edgy, whimsical designer has plans to pass the creative direction of her label to another set of capable hands by the end of the fall. Johnson recently revealed that she anticipates the step-down to happen as soon as September following her show that month.

“I should be retired. I’m basically screwing up because I’m not retired. I’d like to go in four days a month, something like that.”

The incoming head designer will most likely be Eric Sartori, whose résumé includes stints at Vera Wang and Hervé Léger. According to Johnson, Sartori merely needs to “Betsey-fy”, and he’s ready for the job.

“But I’ll be a megaconsultant. I’ll go in. I want to be like Ralph [Lauren]. Like, I always imagined the perfect life is like Ralph, where he goes in, and his wonderful expert crews show him work, and he goes, ‘Love it, love it, love it, um, we’ll just put that aside for the moment, love it, love it, hmmm.’ You know what I mean?“

Yes, Betsey, we know exactly what you mean. Make gobs of money while working less than five days a month. Don’t we all wish we were in the same position of merely deciding when to make that change? If only!

Though they’re not a particularly versatile addition to a wardrobe, canvas totes can be a fantastic way to play around with color and prints during the summer season.

Something like this light green Miss Liz handbag will add some fun and whimsy to a casual outfit. The graphic prints are separated into two halves on the front. The floral side reminds me of the Layer Cake Satchel but less bold when paired with the lime-colored background.

The lettered side is full of characters that spell out Roxy in no certain order. It’s a fun contrast to the dainty flower print on the other half. The back of the bag is a little simpler with just a few flowers and signature logo on one side.

The Miss Liz’s closure is an interesting feature. Instead of a magnetic snap or a lack of closure altogether, as many canvas totes seem to have, this bag has a clasp. The outer corners come together to create the slightly a-line shape you see here.

If lime green isn’t your thing, the Miss Liz comes in a raspberry purple or black background with varying colors on the flowers and letters. For $34, you really can’t go wrong with this canvas tote, even if it’s not the most flexible accessory you own.

The Muse Two tote is not, by any means, something new to the world of fashion. This handbag line, which has been available to us for several seasons already, was preceded by the ever-so-popular Muse collection. Both lines have many celebrity followings, but I think that the Muse Two deserves as much of the spotlight as its predecessor.

In my opinion, an Yves Saint Laurent handbag purchase is like buying into a little piece of history. It will be famous and remembered for its era but never out of vogue. Though I happen to adore many of the label’s purses like the Tribute and Y Satchel, the Muse Two is definitely one of my favorites for its easy classic yet completely sophisticated style.

The soft pebbled leather on this version of the Muse Two is absolutely elegant in natural tan. A satchel like this knows no season, which is excellent when you’re going to shell out well over $1,000 to get it. If you’re going to buy a designer handbag, it’s nice to think that you’ll get a good amount of use out of it throughout the year.

The Muse Two comes in more than one size and material. This particular one is a medium version, which is a very decent, average size for a satchel. The front flap closes with a push button with two straps that button below it. This chic Yves Saint Laurent tote is finished off with pretty gold hardware.

If you can design shoes, then you really ought to understand how to design handbags.  With the amazing heels that Jimmy Choo releases into the world, it is no surprise just how lovely his bags can be.

This slouchy black bag is a particularly special example. The slouchy ultra-soft leather almost gives the clutch an air of casual creation, almost as if a calf just happened to walk into some buckles, and voila! Whilst I suspect the construction of this designer purse was rather more complicated, it still retains a beautifully casual and easy-going shape.

Before you start thinking that this bag is overly simple and gentle, then don’t worry. The multiple buckles bring a hint of the rocky and dramaticto this glossy purse, the gold hardware contrasting nicely with the deep color. These aren’t over-the-top and ostentatious buckles however, they channel the trend brilliantly whilst still being discreet and wearable.

Whilst the chain handle probably isn’t the most comfortable, I can’t really find anything bad to say about this sexy little purse. It is spacious, comfortable, durable, and shouldn’t go out of fashion easily. A stunner!
