I actually had to look at the Janis several times before seeing the asymmetry on the front. I also really like how the fringe continues more than half way up the handle for extra movement.

It’s just the sort of purse you’d expect to see boho fashion gals like Kate Hudson or Sienna Miller to carry. Young starlet Amanda Bynes has been spotted toting this Linea Pelle design.

This polka dot purse from Mad by Design can easily turn any outfit into a showstopper. Its bold contemporary good looks would be equally at home running errands in the city or keeping company over cocktails when the sun goes down.

This bag is a real beauty, with amber horn polka dots covering the front and back. Spotted purses can often look a little Minnie Mouse, but by keeping the colors dark and neutral Mad by Design avoids the novelty factor. The same amber horn is utilized again in the handles. It creates a unified and modern look, but it’s not the most practical option. Prepare for a little inconvenience when you’re carrying this baby around, and if you’ve got some travelling to do you may want to get a cab, or take a purse with a much longer strap.

Silk purses are often delicate things that lack structure, but that’s not the case here. The smooth fabric is reinforced, so it stands up tall and proud. It’s not very large, but I would still hesitate about loading it to capacity. Those handles are a stumbling block again, bound to dig into delicate palms if the purse gets too heavy.

The Mad by Design has some serious flaws, but its good looks are hard to argue with. Thankfully Mad by Design realizes the bag’s limitations, so they’ve kept the price down to a reasonable $52.

Bottega Veneta has enlisted some all star talent for its fall advertising campaign. The fashion label’s creative director Tomas Maier entrusted star photographer Steven Meisel to capture these gorgeous shots of Russian model Anna Jagodzinska. And he couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

“I admire the intelligence that [Meisel] brings to fashion,” Tomas Maier gushed. “He approaches clothes with an understanding of the women who wear them and an awareness of the cultural context in which fashion exists.”

Bottega Veneta ads rarely make waves, preferring instead to keep things chic and simple. These commercials are no exception, with their dark moody backgrounds and Anja’s sophisticated purple attire and accessories. I’m particularly enamored with those exotic handbags, although I’m sure these ostrich and crocodile beauties will be worth way more than I can afford!

The ads will soon hit fashion glossies, and for the first time, iconic newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and London Times.

Lovcat could never keep things completely sensible though. The brand’s trademark sense of fun is shown with a cute heart-shaped zipper pull for the coin pocket. It might be kept tucked away inside the wallet, but I like knowing it’s there.

Lovcat wallets aren’t as cheap as some, but they’re hardly exorbitant either. I’m happy to fork out $125 when it buys genuine leather and first-class craftsmanship like this.

This has to be one of the prettiest Whiting & Davis bags I’ve seen. I always expect classy styles and sometimes a vintage vibe from the brand, but I’m really liking how this Ribbon hobo captures those elements yet has a contemporary feel as well.

The gray mesh fabric is screenprinted with a wavy, ribbon-like pattern. The unevenness, almost randomness of the lines is what gives the hobo an updated style despite the traditionally old-fashioned material.

There’s also a leather handle that adds to the contemporary look, too. It could stand to be just a tad longer, in my opinion; however, because of the ultra slouchy style of the hobo, it doesn’t seem like it would be too inhibiting.

The interior is lined in nylon fabric and contains a few handy pockets including one zippered and one for your cell phone. The Ribbon hobo is very unstructured, which won’t make it the most practical for organizing your items, but it does cut quite a stylish figure.

Ghibli is a little known but hugely luxurious brand. The creme de la creme of super-expensive and super-beautiful spacious totes with really superior styling.

This particular tote is a very stunning example. In rich and exotic turquoise python skin, all eyes will look your way. I don’t know many bags that scream “I was very pricey” as loudly as this one does!

The shape too is unusual and stylish; this hold-all takes influence from formal satchels shaping, but with the added space of a full-size tote. Your work and books will easily fit in here, even if it isn’t the widest of containers. Of course, be careful not to make it too heavy, as those small “fashion” handles will try to make life difficult.

Jam-packed with pockets, I am impressed that a status symbol like this bothers to aim for practicality. A lot of huge handbags labels simply don’t try. This gorgeous snakeskin tote has inside pockets and tons of space.

A jewel-colored stunner, this is a lovely and unusual bag. At about $1300 it is far from affordable, but should make a beautiful long-lasting investment.

Hollywood starlets may soon be trading in their Louis Vuitton and Fendi purses for new high-tech accessories. Designer Adam Harvey has created a handbag which prevents the paparazzi from capturing those incriminating candid snaps.

It works by creating a glare in a photographer’s lens, which obscures the stars in their most shameful moments. An extra-bright LED is triggered by a light detector, so when a camera flash goes off, so does the anti-paparazzi bag.

“I created an anti-paparazzi device that communicates the desire to not be photographed,” explained Mr. Harvey.

If only Britney Spears had carried one when she forgot her underwear. Perhaps Samantha Ronson and Lindsey Lohan wouldn’t have had such a tumultuous relationship if they could have kept their kisses on the down low.

But does this purse spell the end of those trashy photos we all secretly love? My favorite gossip magazines are bound to become boring with only polished red carpet shots to pore over!
