In general, Tommy Hilfiger is usually viewed as a purveyor of classic Americana style. I’d put this Biscayne Weekender somewhere in between a dash of all-American and a big dose of simple chic.

It almost looks like something you’d expect from Tignanello or even French brand Longchamp. The pretty combination of coated twill and leather is the perfect blend for a casual weekend tote.

This certainly isn’t the only weekender handbag that Hilfiger has released, but I think it’s one of their best. It’s a great option for a carry-on, shopping bag, or overnight tote. The large, open interior will hold all you can manage to carry on one shoulder with a little zippered pocket inside for small items.

I suppose the only issue with the Biscayne is that the coated twill material is more appropriate for the warmer seasons than for fall or winter. However, as practical as this Tommy Hilfiger weekender tote is, I don’t see that stopping most people from using it year round.

The lining of this little purse may not be pink, but it is sparkly and luxurious looking too. In true Hobo style, they have taken a charity concept and turned it into a cute (if glittery) and bold (if girly) bag that will do as much good to the world as it will to your chirpiness!

When I think of generous, philanthropic celebs, Naomi Campbell isn’t a name which springs to mind. But it seems I might have misjudged the hot-tempered supermodel. She’s showing rare altruism and donating an exotic Hermes Birkin bag to charity.

Funds raised by the luxurious donations will benefit The White Ribbon Alliance. The international organization looks to ensure pregnancy and childbirth is safe for all women and newborns around the world.

The Hermes auction takes place on November 10. You might want to start saving your pennies if you hope to secure either bag. The combination of star power and luxury is a heady combination for any fashion fan!

Here’s surprising twist for a Miu Miu ad campaign: there are no celebrities involved. I’m a little shocked, to by quite honest.

Considering that the label has previously pulled in the likes of Katie Holmes, Kirsten Dunst, and Lindsay Lohan, it’s quite unexpected to see Prada’s little sister showcasing actual career models in their ads. However, they have indeed chosen models to flaunt their latest fall/winter items.

Don’t look for Kate Moss or Natalia Vodianova in these ads, however. The fresh faces of the autumn 09 campaign include Hannah Holman, Mimmi Söderström, and Ilda Lundqvist.

Fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott went with a minimalist design for Miu Miu. Without tabloid-heavy celebs and with a very muted color palette, these ads really highlight the exquisite textures of Miu Miu’s fall/winter collection. Just check out that tweed coat and gorgeous studded handbag.

SR Squared by Sondra Roberts doesn’t have any particular signature style but is one of those brands that merely mimics big trends like ruffles and patchwork. It was just a matter of time that they came out with a studded handbag since the trend has been making the rounds with designers lately.

The tough, rock-and-roll style is specific and not to everyone’s taste, but tons of people are getting on board with studded details. I appreciate the look in moderation, but sometimes the smattering of studs can go a little overboard. This might be one of those times, at least for women who aren’t completely sold on the style.

With its intricate and rather large pattern of hardware, this SR Squared hobo is a bit more biker than rocker chic. It has some nice details, though, like the chain accents on the handle and the exterior zippered pocket on the back.

As with many of the brand’s bags, one of the best aspects of the Studded hobo is the price. For a synthetic leather purse, the affordable cost of just over $70 corresponds nicely with the quality.

The temptation with frilled handbags is often to put lacy layer after lacy layer all over the bag. Thankfully Betsey Johnson has kept it relatively controlled, with only two layers emphasizing the large and functional exterior pocket.

For such a large and spacious handbag, the handles are surprisingly short, and this limited drop length will prevent you from slinging it casually over your shoulder. This is a shame, especially considering the amount you could have carried around otherwise!

This easygoing satchel with its contrasting hardware is a simple but “normal” bag, until you look inside. Here the designer credentials and high price are much more understandable, as it is lined with a luxurious high-class floral fabric. This purse is classy and sophisticated, within a bubbly girly frame!

Foley + Corinna have given a modern twist to the traditional flap purse with the Much Clutch.

Fendi glams up its famous signature print with this gold Borsa Zia Forever bag.

The iconic pattern is rendered on genuine calfskin which has been laminated for a little extra shine. Some might argue that gold leather already has enough gloss, but this isn’t a purse that does things by halves. It’s not the brassiest gold I’ve seen, and the silvery interlocking letters make it all look a little less ostentatious than it might. But it’s still no shrinking violet.

The “look at me” attitude continues with a gold-tone Fendi clasp and a matching chunky chain. One wonders why the leather sides weren’t extended to cushion our shoulders, but I suppose this isn’t a purse that worries too much about practical perks.

That assumption is confirmed when you peek inside. The luxury is taken care of with the soft suede lining, but it skimps on space and organizational features. Not that a purse so slender needs a lot of pockets!

Its petite stature makes the Borsa Zia Forever the kind of bag you might flash around at night, but pass over for a more practical purse during the day. It’s got its flaws, but Fendi fans will be tempted to overlook them.
