Just about everything on this Juicy Couture Pammy tote screams signature Juicy style. That’s not necessarily a good thing, unless you happen to be a huge fan of the brand.

While many prefer Juicy’s more sophisticated side, as seen on bags like the Small Bowler or the Madge, there is definitely a large number of shoppers who go ga-ga for totes such as the Pammy. On this particular version, what stands out as the most indicative of the label is the material.

I’m not sure if there’s any other handbag brand who can pull off terry fabric quite like this. Either we’re just used to seeing it on Juicy’s products, or they’ve managed to combine it with other details to make it seem somehow appropriate. Whatever the answer, the fact remains that they’ve got the terry cloth purse market covered, however impractical the material may seem for a bag.

The other unmistakable detail that makes this hot pink martinique terry tote a Juicy Couture product is the oversized (dare I say it, overscale) signature logo and printed design on the front. As if that weren’t enough, there’s also a subtle leather patch displaying the letter “J” on the back of the bag.

I shouldn’t be overly negative about the Pammy, though, because it is decently sized tote with fun details perfect for a casual, flirty outfit. If classic Juicy isn’t your thing, you might consider one of their understated choices instead. However, if you love hot pink terry fabric with metallic details that can only belong to Juicy Couture, the Pammy tote was made for you.

Aside from the classy patent exterior, this bag has never heard of bling. While this may make it conservative in nature, at least it means that every aspect is work-suitable and very smart. The handles may be a little short for a tote with such space, but there is an option to make it longer, and this is a welcome feature in any bag.

In this particular luxury hold-all, however, the dual options for the handle conceals a particularly interesting feature. By folding the top flap down, this leather tote can have a completely different silhouette. Effectively you get two handbags in one, even if none of the designs are particularly awe-inspiring.

This is a useful and multifunctional bag from well known designer Nine West, and what it lacks in innovation it easily makes up for in affordability!

Kooba’s Andie clutch is one of those purses that just begs to be touched. The metallic leather is so buttery soft, which is just what you want in a hand-held clutch!

The looks are contemporary yet feminine. A knotted band is a modern alternative to a bow, adding interest without appearing too girly. If you’re going to utilize the room inside, the Andie’s going to become a little hard to handle. A shoulder strap would have easily solved the problem, so it’s a wonder Kooba didn’t think of it!

At $325, the Andie isn’t exactly cheap for a party purse. But if you’ve got the cash to spare, this wine colored clutch would be ideal for carrying in the cooler weather ahead!

Kathy Van Zeeland serves up her signature rock and roll style with some practical pizzazz with the Idol tote.

While the dark oak color is a little more sedate than we might expect from the designer, the glossy synthetic leather finish and two-tone studs provide the customary rock and roll attitude. Kathy Van Zeeland isn’t a designer known for her subtlety, but the dark complementary color palette makes this bag more wearable than many of her creations.

The foldover design is the Idol’s greatest drawcard. You can carry it upright by the chunky handles, or fold the top over and wear it with a longer strap. That detachable shoulder strap is a real practical plus, helping us manage this bulky bag better than the short handles ever could. But the styling is a little less convincing. While so many foldover purses give us a seamless new look, here the execution is a little sloppy. Simply making the original handles long enough for over-the-shoulder toting in the first place would have offered a much cleaner design.

The Idol has space to spare, with convenient side pockets, a zippered compartment on the back, and an enormous interior. It takes a lot to really organize such a massive space, but a zippered pocket, cell phone pouch, and credit card slots do their best to help out.

The Idol takes a few missteps, but there’s plenty about it to admire including the bottom line. At just $118, this is one affordable everyday accessory for girls with the attitude to pull it off.

Reversible totes are great. You get more for your money by enjoying two handbag styles for the price of one. But usually it’s just a change of color or print and only available in cotton or canvas bags.

Not so with this See by Chloe Leather/Cotton Reversible Tote! These are really two completely different bags.

The blue leather tote is very sensible and classic with clean lines and minimal detail. The blue leather side features one flap pocket with a geometric triple seam detail. It would make a great unexpected neutral in your wardrobe.

But the cotton side is anything but neutral! The loud, fun artistic floral print pops in red, blue, orange, purple and more. The cotton exterior gives it a more rounded, less structured shape. What was an interior zip pocket when the leather was the exterior becomes an exposed zipper pocket in blue trim on the cotton.

I would question how practical it is to have a leather interior for a bag. What if a pen explodes or lipstick opens? There’s also the fear that the bag wouldn’t fall exactly the same on either side once it has been reversed. So, consider these possible drawbacks before falling for the novelty aspects of this tote.

People might be making a lot of cutbacks and tightening the proverbial belt as of late, but it doesn’t appear to be slowing down fashion designer label Louis Vuitton.

This powerhouse of a brand has continued plugging along and bringing in the sales. Perhaps they aren’t as outrageous as past numbers, but LV actually scraped together a 7 percent profit in same-store sales, specifically on fashion and leather goods.

That’s impressive considering that some companies like Christian Lacroix are on the edge of disaster and near liquidiation without financial backing. Even the chief of Louis Vuitton’s umbrella company, LVMH, is impressed by the numbers calling it “particularly remarkable given the global economic crisis.”

I guess it doesn’t hurt sales to have fashion geniuses like Marc Jacobs and celebrities like Madonna working for you.

Dolce & Gabbana’s young, hip line of the business D&G is usually ahead of the curve when it comes to trends. This contemporary Katri hobo is no exception to that.

With its modern-looking styling and one-of-a-kind details, the Katri has an undeniable urban feel to it. Of course, if brands like Kate Spade and Hermes are more up your alley, you might not love this slightly avant-garde handbag. However, for women who prefer a tote with a twist, the Katri won’t disappoint.

The shape and style is something I wouldn’t be surprised to see on a Matt & Nat bag, although it would be in vegan leather and not this textured leather, of course. It’s the asymmetry and bold use of zippers that reminds me of the other designer brand, though.

Instead of functioning as a dramatic detail on the hobo, the Katri’s front diagonal zipper running from the front to the back is actually the entry into the bag’s interior. I can’t say I would find this feature particularly practical when you have a wide, unbendable item to store inside, but it sure does look stylish. The contrast stitching around the front square patch and the edges is a nice detail as well.

Designer details don’t come cheap, though. This gray leather hobo retails for $1,050.
