Wow, what a blast from the past! This graphic wallet is enough to take us back to our childhood cartoons, whether for you or to treat the man in your life.

There isn’t much fancy to this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles nostalgic purse. After all, it is simple in black leather, which adds quality to a childish image. Leather wallets are always great for looking and feeling classy, and generally last longer than alternative synthetic fabrics. It won’t last forever for $21, but for a fun and entertaining purse it will do great!

The colors on this wallet are bright. with a turtle image on one side and that iconic text on the other. Consequently it is probably a little too bright for some, but should definitely attract attention.

All in all this is a functional and childish wallet that will fulfill its purpose with a healthy dose of fun!

I always look forward to the next Whiting & Davis bag I see. No one else could do so many beautiful things with a simple metal mesh!

This little wristlet is a more delicate version of the Whiting & Davis clutches. Using nothing more complicated than a gentle lotus flower pattern, the silver mesh stands in elegant contrast with the black print. It is interesting that it is so beautiful; the metal is smooth and un-embellished, and that typical elaborate style of the brand is rather different to this simple wristlet.

That said, the delicate floral exterior is countered by the studded black leather wristlet. This little handle brings a punk biker edge to the purse, working that meeting of girly and butch to its most effective advantage. It contrasts dramatically (and not everyone will like it), but I think it works.

This metal clutch is meant to be small, but I feel that it is perhaps a touch too thin as well. After all, phones can be a little fat these days, and we don’t want to have to leave it at home on our nights out!

Alexis Hudson plays it straight with the Bohem hobo. This is a return to the roots of the style, with its characteristic slouch and easy breezy spirit.

This is every inch the classic hobo, which is just what I like about it. Contemporary hobos have turned the design on its head, so this return to form is refreshing. The minimalist approach and simple color palette here makes it perfect for pairing with a colorful printed maxi-dress.

While it’s simple, the Bohem certainly isn’t boring. The soft shoulder strap has a wonderful distressed look, and there’s subtle braiding down the centre and across the base. The side tassel strikes just the right bohemian note, but I could do without all the metal charms. I hope these are easy to remove, because they really clutter this clean design.

The Bohem’s lovely looks are backed up by its spacious design. The generous lined interior features a zippered pocket, a slip pouch for gadgets, and a convenient key chain. Anyone who’s ever struggled with a broken zipper will be thrilled with the double zip opening.

While I love the warmth of this chestnut brown bag, but the Bohem is also available in basic black.

Megha Mittal, the daughter-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, has purchased the bankrupt German fashion house, Escada. The iconic style brand was sold for an undisclosed sum, although the German press estimate the deal with was worth around 100 million Euros including the company’s widely publicized debt.

Ms. Mittal beat out stiff competition from the M1 Group, Sven Ley, the son of Escada founder Wolfgang Ley, and St John Knits owner Vester Capital Partners. She made the purchase through a family trust rumored to be in the three-digit million range.

The 33-year-old Ms. Mittal is a mother of two with a degree in finance and a lifelong passion for fashion.

“Our first priority is to ensure that the great heritage of this iconic company is translated into a strong and successful future,” she told The Economic Times in India.

It’s expected that current CEO, Bruno Slazer, will retain his position during the transition. Ms. Mittal will act as a board member and ambassador for the Escada brand.

Alexander Wang is one of those designers who rarely gets it wrong. His 1980s inspired accessories somehow combine the current taste for retro goodies with classic fashion sensibilities. Perhaps it’s the absence of fluorescent hues and outlandish designs which help Alexander Wang’s bags stand the test of time.

The Tina Zip Clutch is in keeping with Alexander Wang’s signature style. While it’s called a clutch, its large size makes it a little ungainly for hand-held carrying. Thankfully the purse can easily convert to a cross-body bag by attaching the luxuriously long strap. The Tina makes the most of its supersized appearance with plenty of pockets for maximum storage potential.

Security is the name of the game, with all exterior pockets closing with shiny silver zips. The hardware adds a little attitude, although this cream-colored purse never appears too rock and roll. If you’d prefer a little more edge, consider the black or denim blue Tinas.

While it doesn’t have the bad girl appeal of the others, I think this more virginal Tina is the best showcase for the pebbly textured finish. It just begs to be touched! Of course, you’ll have to keep this pale-colored purse away from red wine and dirty motorcycles. That creamy shade is guaranteed to show stains if it’s not handled with care.

Like so many Alexander Wang bags, the Tina is relatively affordable at $590.

It’s amazing to me how long a fashion cartoon kitten has captured the hearts of kids and adults alike. Albeit a little surprising, Sanrio’s Hello Kitty character is celebrating 35 years of offering shoppers its kitschy, cute products with no signs of slowing down any time soon.

In addition to crystal-studded music players and jewelry, one of the limited edition collaboration collections created to commemorate the anniversary event is a handbag collection from bling-tastic designer Judith Leiber. The line is exactly what I’d expect from Leiber … just with Hello Kitty on the front. Actually, the shimmering, crystal-covered quirky combination is just up the designer’s alley considering some of her previous designs.

These minaudiere-style bags don’t seem to be intended for Hello Kitty’s young fans, however. The glitzy hobo-style purse shown above is set to be priced at nearly $4,000. In my opinion, you have to be a major fan of the brand, as well as Judith Leiber’s signature look, to shell out that kind of cash. On the other hand, these limited edition products will be collector’s items.

This Whiting & Davis handbag is just the sort of shiny thing that would attract a magpie. With its combination of gleaming brass mesh material and shimmery printed leather, the Iridescent Boa Foldover Clutch is certainly no wallflower of a handbag.

It is, however, infinitely appropriate for cocktail parties and other dressy events where you can make a statement with gleaming accessories. To be honest, it’s not really what I’m used to seeing from the brand since Whiting & Davis bags often have a vintage vibe. Some of the label’s recent details have been veering toward the contemporary, though, and I’d place the Boa Foldover clutch somewhere in between the two extremes.

Snakeskin and other exotic prints are quite the rage right now, placing this handbag right on trend. The effect here seems to be more about the shimmer than the texture, however.

I always like a foldover bag design, but Whiting & Davis made this one ever more interesting by mixing up the materials. The top half, which displays the handbag’s modern cutout handles but also folds down when used as a clutch, is constructed from the prismatic snake-printed leather. Underneath that, the bottom half is made from the brand’s signature brass metal mesh material in solid black. Although I wouldn’t call it a very versatile look, this Iridescent Boa Foldover Clutch could go a long way for party attire.

An expensive bag and luxury brand-name are all well and good, but that doesn’t always mean that you will end up with an elegant and sophisticated purse. This over-decorated and dramatic evening bag from huge fashion-house D&G is a perfect case-in-point.

This individual key words for this bag paint a luxurious picture. The detailed and delicate beaded exterior, with its sparkling diamante layer. The soft deep-black tassel key charm, and the folded scrunched black satin fabric. Together, however, that spark of brilliance is missing.

Instead of heavenly, the actual finished result is a little over-the-top and a bit too much. I think the gold keyhole clasp clashes with the lighter silver diamante, and this in particular makes this very expensive luxury evening bag seem somewhat cheaper than it really is.

Slightly questionable looks aside, the bag is elegant and pricey. It may not be to my tastes, but that dramatic style may just be your cup of tea.
