Natalia Vodianova has quite a few job titles in her life. In addition to being a highly sought-after supermodel, she is also a wife and mother to three. However, nothing seems to be slowing her down right now.

The Russian-born beauty is keeping herself very busy with modeling contracts including multiple advertising campaigns for the upcoming spring 2010 season. Not only will she continue with the two perfume contracts she has with Geurlain and Calvin Klein, as well as modeling lingerie for Etam, for which she also designs, but Natalia will also be starring in three, yes three, designer campaigns for spring.

The supermodel is reportedly set to take over Christy Turlington’s place as the face of Yves Saint Laurent and star in ads for Givenchy and Stella McCartney. That’s quite a demanding schedule! It seems that the past rumors of her retirement from modeling are far behind her now. Although she has stated that she no longer has intentions of appearing on the catwalk again, her days of starring in ad campaigns are obviously far from over.

Whiting & Davis has been making classy metal mesh handbags for quite a while now, but the brand seems to be taking its signature look in a new direction as of late. I, for one, am enjoying the interesting designs that are coming out of the process.

This Studded Fold-Over bag is just one of a few recent styles from the brand that seem to exemplify the slight change. Similar to the contemporary look of the Whiting & Davis Crystal Stud Clutch or the Lizzy Clutch, the Studded Fold-Over blends together an interesting mix of materials.

With this design, it’s brass mesh, patent croc-embossed leather, and metallic studs. If you ask me, that’s quite a shift from the vintage-inspired clutches for which this brand is most well-known. I’d even call this a little rock-and-roll, which is definitely a change in the type of adjectives I tend to use for the label’s bags.

This fold-over style is great for taking a gal from day to night by switching quickly from shoulder bag to clutch simply by adding or detaching the strap. Because of the shiny and glossy materials used on the handbag, you’ll be somewhat limited in where you can carry it during the day. However, either style that the Studded Fold-Over converts to is appropriate for nighttime events.

I do love a good Sondra Roberts purse; the designer never fails to make something gorgeous yet unique and more than a little bit unusual.

This Grape Clutch is no exception to the rule. At first glance looking like a strange collection of small metal baubles, this clutch is actually lovingly constructed from layered satin bubbles (grapes) that meet at the base. The effect is completely unusual, classically stunning, and visually unique.

Once you look inside this purse continues to be elegant, although the decadent over-the-top exterior is left far behind. Lined in plain coordinating satin, this is a purse designed to be loved from the outside-in rather than the inside-out. You only get a slip pocket, unfortunately, whereas a single zip pocket would have been appreciated by all girls who carry it.

Little niggles aside, this is actually a wonderfully designed purse. The structured frame gives a border to the free-form bubbled grapes, keeping the bag sophisticated rather than tipping it into the realms of the ridiculous. With a handy optional handle and designer visage, this may just be worth the $170 price tag.

Diane von Furstenberg’s Stephanie hobo has attracted a legion of celebrity fans with its colorful metallic leather finish and slouchy style. Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Biel have all been spotted carrying this shiny piece of arm candy. Thankfully though, it doesn’t come with a celebrity price tag.

$875 may still be out of the reach of many, particularly with Christmas just around the corner, but it’s really not bad for a quality leather handbag such as this. Bottega Venetta charges thousands for its woven leather beauties, and the colors are rarely as compelling as this pretty purse. The theme is called ocean, with its blues and greens, but it actually reminds me more of peacock plumage. Whichever way you see it, these colors are vibrant without appearing gaudy.

Despite its unconventional woven leather finish, this is still a traditional style hobo from its crescent shape to its characteristic slouch. That shape will see it hugging your body beautifully for a real boho chic look. The long tasseled zipper pull only adds to that easy, breezy vibe.

There’s a short strap for hand-held carrying, but I prefer the wide braided strap. Its extra inches make it perfect for over-the-shoulder toting.

If you worry that the colors won’t work with your wardrobe you can opt for the Stephanie in black, silver, and gold.

While award-winning fashion designer Derek Lam might have several years of successful collections under his belt, his foray into the all-important marketing campaigns is just picking up steam.

After a dusky and understated beach-setting fall/winter 2009 photo shoot with model Karmen Pedaru, we were told that the campaign had a message that would continue into more seasons. Now that the first of Lam’s spring 2010 shots are out, I can sort of see a theme.

This time it’s model, and Derek Lam’s latest muse, Ginta Lapina who is fronting the campaign, but the backdrop is the same. Although the lighting is much brighter and the sun seems to be shining quite a bit more for the new season, the beach is once again the chosen setting for the showcase of fashion.

I’m not exactly sure what the overarching message is for the two campaigns besides the fact that Derek Lam apparently likes the sand. In the fall, the model seemed pensive, but here Lapina looks like she’s ready to protect her designer handbag from whoever is producing the large, looming shadow over her. I must be missing the point, but either way this new spring 2010 campaign is pretty, well-styled, and sure to catch the eyes of magazine readers.

This isn’t the first woven tote to pop up on my radar in the last week, and I’m guessing that it won’t be the last. Like the Kate Spade Austin Small Coal Tote, this Necessary Objects tote seems to defy my predetermined stereotype of woven bags being mostly appropriate for the warmer seasons.

Funnily enough, this woven handbag also has the name Austin in the title. The Necessary Objects Steve Austin tote might not be made from vinyl and yarn like the Kate Spade bag, but it is constructed using a synthetic leather material.

That manmade element keeps the price down significantly. Although you won’t be getting top-notch quality, it’s hard not to consider this handbag a great option when it only costs $54. Measuring at nearly twenty inches wide, that’s a great bargain for when size is important but price is an issue.

The Steve Austin tote is also available in black, brown, and red versions in addition to this shiny pewter color. The metallic options shown here is a fun choice, especially for the holidays. Of course, it’s not the style of bag you’d carry to a party, but it could be a festive way to tote around your items as you travel this winter.

Am I the only person in the world who never seems to get fed up of beautiful cute bows?

They may be around absolutely everywhere at the moment, but somehow adorable bows have managed to never go out of fashion. At the moment with the eighties vibe still strutting its stuff on the runway, oversized bows are the style of choice.

Susan Farber uses these oversized bows to brilliant effect in her soft and slouchy yet elegant clutch, the Mezzo Sofia. Available in a range of rich yet uncommon colors, this really is creating a cute version for the anti-kitsch generation. Personally I love the look of it, where you can see the tone and flaws of the leather and the gentle gloss sheen

The interior of this clutch is slightly less exciting than that arty exterior, but its checkered personality does add a nice sprinkle of fun into a purse that actually leans more towards elegant than enjoyable. The black and white goes with all colors in the range, so it should always look good.

To look this smart you have to pay a price: $322 to be precise. But for a bag this gorgeous with a useful optional handle that (shock!) isn’t chain, well, I think it may well be worth it!

Miu Miu has embraced its playful side with its fun spring 2010 collection. A kitten jazzes up a fairly simple black satchel, while a shimmery snakeskin print swallow dresses up a striped clutch purse. It’s definitely something new from the brand, but I’m not quite convinced.

The cut-out animals could give a spring sundress a lift, but they might also make your outfit appear a tad juvenile. The look’s definitely more youth line than high end fashion. Without the bird accent, I’d snap up the striped purse with its scalloped flap, but that feathered friend makes my grown-up side hesitate.

The cat and bird motifs run right through the Miu Miu collection, which does concern me. I might be persuaded to carry this clutch for a dash of whimsy, but wearing clothes with the same bird seems like overkill.

Only time will tell whether fashion fans embrace Miu Miu’s silly side or whether these accessories end up in the bargain bins!

Miu Miu Clutches on eBay

Devi Kroell has done it again with the Twist Bag. With her signature love of snakeskin and all things exotic, she’s brought something new to the classic tote.

With an elegant twist of the handles she’s reinvented the style, and how. The simple rectangular tote shape lets the twisted straps do most of the talking. But it’s not the only drawcard of this lovely purse. That waxed snakeskin finish in berry is delicious, although you certainly pay for the privilege of carrying it! Devi Kroell fans won’t be surprised to see this purse priced at $2590. You’ll save a little if you opt for the leather and sea-snake alternative, but it just doesn’t have the same pizazz.

I think I’d need to test-drive this tote to decide whether it’s practical or not. I can imagine the handles could be a little difficult to manage, and the twists may make it tricky to get things in and out.

But do Devi Kroell devotees really care about those details? Something tells me they just want to make the rest of us drool!

Amanda Pearl’s collection of handbags is, for the most part, elegant, feminine, and quite unique. These vintage-inspired evenings bag designs might be fairly new to the fashion world in comparison to other brands, but they are quickly gaining popularity.

Since launching the first collection in 2008, Amanda Pearl’s bags have been seen in the hands of red carpet stars like Freida Pinto and Blake Lively and even on the set of the always fashion-forward show Gossip Girl. Now the company is using the publicity to give something back.

After a trip to Africa that involved nursing a baby cheetah back to health after the death of its mother, the designer was inspired add a few styles to her new fall collection of bags in order to benefit the World Wildlife Fund, which is the “largest multinational conservation organization in the world” working to protect both nature and its inhabitants.

The three Amanda Pearl for WWF clutch bags feature the brand’s popular Le Tout pouch design but each with a wildlife-inspired brocade material. The Tigris, Pardus, and Onca are all available on Amanda Pearl’s website for $165 with 20% of the proceeds from sales going straight to the WWF.
