Timeless elegance is the name of the game for this tote, clad in gorgeous pleated black leather. This is fashionable enough to go with almost anything, yet the leather and knotted handles give it a little on-trend 1980s edge.

Whilst Moschino is generally quite elegant and timeless, its Cheap and Chic brand does tend towards the current fashion season. In this purse, that translates into the slouchy shape, which thankfully is useful as well as fashionable. The handles too are very eighties, but the length is a little short and does reduce the function of this expensive purse.

The Plisse pleated tote has no need for dramatic embellishments and metallic hardware, choosing instead to stick with the rather predictable black through and through. If you want classy and incredibly expensive good looks, this $1000 Moschino tote should suit you perfectly.

Jalda goes all elegant and surreal with this rather fabulous crocodile print clutch.

This evening bag uses over-sized croc-embossed print to its best advantage by creating this mirrored effect, looking like the invisible Andreia Chaves shoes that fashion bloggers all over the globe are raving about. The metallic leather could be shinier, but this muted version manages to avoid the over-bling that is the bane of all too many Christmas party season purses.

Of course, you wouldn’t expect anything other than luxury for the price that Jalda charges for this Christa evening bag: a smart $265! Whilst most of this metallic clutch is luxurious enough to justify the cost, I would have preferred to see a more decadent lining and maybe some sort of exciting feature.

All in all this is an expensive but interesting purse from a respected designer, that is packed with Christmas glitter but somewhat lacking that little something extra.

Although I rarely expect to see something dramatic and eyecatching from typically classic brand Tignanello, this Pleated Pockets Top Zip shoulder bag is a tad underwhelming when compared to some of their other styles, in my opinion.

However, there’s always a place in a woman’s wardrobe for a versatile brown handbag with a traditional silhouette. While this particular one might not excite tons of purse lovers, it does have some nice qualities that make it a decent option for a mid-range, well-made everyday bag.

Like Tignanello’s other designs, the Pleated Pockets shoulder bag’s exterior is made from soft leather. Though the details are rather subtle, they do complement the simple look of the handbag. A few rows of topstitching and a handful of round studs are basically the only decorative accents.

The overall shape is fairly structured, but the exterior pockets are lightly pleated around the bottom to make the silhouette a tiny bit relaxed. A single strap with a comfortable drop fits perfectly with the Pleated Pockets Top Zip’s practical design.

French fashion label Hype Means Nothing has expanded its range to include some contemporary accessories.

The brand’s travel bags and Macbook cases are just as celebrity obsessed as you might expect. Each features hundreds of images of stars like Barack Obama, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and Marilyn Monroe cheekily wearing finger glasses. The number of images could look busy, but by keeping them in black and white Hype Means Nothing ensures the look is classic and cool. I wish the website detailed the materials used on these products and their dimensions, but I suppose they expect people will care more about the appearance than the details.

The unique accessories are affordably priced, with the travel bag costing $75 and the Macbook case retailing for $60. What a great gift idea for your pop culture loving gal pals and relatives! Both are available from the Hype Means Nothing and Colette websites.

Guess has never been my favorite fashion label, but I’m still shocked it came up with something this terrible.

I suppose Guess might have been hoping for a retro color-blocked effect, but it’s missed the mark here. Instead the white and black accents simply look mismatched against the brown synthetic. From the pleats to the studded corner trim and braided handles, nothing quite works. Who would have thought neutrals could combine to create something so outrageous?

It’s a shame this purse is so fugly, because the interior is really well done. The zip top closure opens to reveal an enormous space with the features to match its size. There’s a zippered pocket and a whopping three open pouches to carry all your gadgets. The signature lining leaves a bit to be desired in the style stakes, but at least it’s practical.

There’s so much to like inside, but then I look at the purse and cringe. But there is a saving grace. The back is perfectly plain, so perhaps if you carry it in reverse you might just pull it off! There are also a few plain colors floating around on eBay, which are worth looking out for!

After a tripped-out fall/winter campaign earlier this year, Marc Jacobs has taken his namesake label to an equally offbeat yet somewhat surreal place for the upcoming spring/summer season.

American model-sometimes-singer Jamie Bochert stars in this first look from the campaign photographed by Marc Jacobs favored photographer Juergen Teller. Her unique look seems to fit beautifully with the often-quirky brand.

While at first glance the shot looks pretty and ethereal, mostly due to a gorgeous silk ruffled dress from the collection and the model’s dancer-like pose, the moment is quickly replaced with confusion when you realize that Bochert is standing in a toilet bowl. I’m not sure if there’s an intentional message here or just an abstract moment that’s merely meant to make you wonder.

Whatever the motivation, I’m definitely curious to see more from the campaign. Plus, in addition to the stunning gown, Jamie appears to be carrying the cute, new tasseled Peasant Pouch, which has me excited to see more handbags from this collection.

The time is here to start getting your hopes up and preparing for the next fashion season, and there aren’t any bags more springlike than this Primavera purse.

Quite frankly, I love this purse. I love the bold vibrant colors and cute pastel bow. I also adore the slouchy casual shape, perfect for sunny spring weddings, and simple elegant clothing. That design is far more girly than I would normally love, but I think the incredibly refined design will make it a hit with more than just the very feminine!

Of course, you wouldn’t expect anything less than impeccable design from Moschino, and its Cheap and Chic range is no exception. It is a shame about the thin uncomfortable chain handle, but with a squidgy purse like this you most likely won’t need to use it.

From the mint green pastel lining to the cute silver bubble clasp, this is a bag that is both cute and sophisticated. The only real downside is that whilst the fabrics are wonderful and the leather bow is adorable, is will still cost you $425. Ouch!

Sondra Roberts builds on the previous Trapunto purse design with this elegant knotted beauty.

The raised design of this purse builds on the quilted technique employed before in purses from this range. In my opinion, the embossed surface works well as a contrast against the smooth tan knot, especially as the colors contrast beautifully too.

Mustard yellow may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but with the retro seventies pattern the shade really works. It is even better as there are so many wonderful winter coats out there that would work perfectly with this informal yet elegant clutch.

Personally I don’t think that this clutch works as well in the black patent version, which forgoes that great contrast in favor of somewhat over the top glossiness! Whichever you prefer, however, you still get a handy functional leather shoulder strap. Equally too, whilst the tan lining isn’t my favorite, you still get a handy interior pocket; so it is all about what really matters to you!

All in all, this Sondra Roberts bag is an elegant purse with an interesting feature; perfect for those dark winter days!

Hermes has released the ultimate indulgence package for Christmas.

The gift set starts with an eight-piece travel collection handmade by a single Hermes craftsman in Paris. The luggage is made from your choice of exotic skins, including crocodile, alligator, ostrich, and lizard. It’s then dyed in your favorite color from the 300 shade range. Hermes will then consult the client and make a bespoke suit, topcoat, shoes, and leather and knit accessories to their specifications. But we’re not done yet. The gift basket also includes a private tour of the Hermes leather atelier in Paris for the recipient and one very lucky guest.

As you can imagine, a gift basket like this doesn’t come cheaply. There are no Christmas sales for Hermes. The package starts from $215, 000, and it could cost a lot more depending on your choice of leather. That price doesn’t buy you speedy service though, as Hermes warns some luggage items may take up to a year to complete. I suppose then they’ll be ready in time for next Christmas!
