Kate Moss’ party loving lifestyle has been notoriously played out in the tabloids, but now the supermodel has taken it to a new extreme. One of her new bags for Longchamp features space for carrying two alcoholic beverages at a time.

Kate says she was inspired to create the bag after becoming a little thirsty at day-long music festivals.

“This one is great for Glastonbury,” she told Vogue magazine. “You can hold two drinks and put it over your shoulder; it’s perfect!“

I’m not sure at this point exactly what sort of beverages Kate is talking about. A handbag that carries two bottles of beer sounds like a practical idea for an evening out, but one which holds two bottles of wine may be cause for concern. That’s particularly true if you’re planning on downing both bottles yourself!

Of course, this bag is bound to cause controversy from teetotalers concerned by the message it sends. But something tells me that won’t worry Longchamp one bit!

I always thought Ed Hardy bags were too brash, too bold, and covered in far too much bling. But I might have found one to turn my head.

Make no mistake; the Julie handbag has all those elements. But on this smaller scale, and with its traditional evening bag style, I don’t seem to mind them too much. The Geisha print is colorful and detailed, like the tattoo you’d see on some exotic Yakuza girl.

Ed Hardy show uncharacteristic restraint in letting this design be the star on both front and back. The trapezoid shape with its shiny metal frame is an elegant match for the silver frame. Some might think it’s too chunky, but this is an Ed Hardy bag after all! It’s easily removable if you’d prefer a sleeker look.

You’ll know once you look at it that you won’t fit much inside. It’s very narrow, and the framed design won’t allow you to overstuff it. I appreciate the zippered pocket though, a more secure place for carrying loose change than the slip pouch.

At $130, the price is nothing to sneeze at for a purse of this size. But it’s got the looks to take you from day to night, at least if you know how to survive on the bare basics!

I do like an unusual color and this elongated clutch from Hobo International definitely ticks that box.

Many people don’t like lime and I can see where they are coming from. You do have to have a certain complexion in order to pull it off, and coordinating it with a full outfit can be tough. If you are bold enough to incorporate this citrus color into your wardrobe, however, then I find that it can look brilliant. A pop of this patent shade could brighten up a dark outfit, and if you want to keep it a little more muted then accessories are the way to go.

The design of this purse is a winner, although it is very simple. Rather than any applique or big features, the folded origami style lines work as decoration on their own. This in combination with the long curved shape and cute little gold clasp makes this surprisingly minimalist and classy for such a bright clutch.

With an unexpected black and white lining and convenient pockets, you can see why this bag costs a pricey $158.

To commemorate the recent opening of Gucci’s Paragon flagship store, the Singapore Tourism Board and the Singapore Botanic Gardens recently named an orchid after the brand’s creative director, Frida Paravanda. As a token of her appreciation, Gucci has released the Paravanda Collection, a handbag range featuring the beautiful orchid.

The proceeds from this limited-edition line will benefit Mainly I Love Kids, a charity which helps disadvantaged children and teens in Singapore and further abroad. Sometimes it’s possible to love a print, but not want it all over a handbag. That’s the way I feel about Donna Sharp’s Princess Circle line. There’s something irresistible about the bold floral print rendered in black, pink and white, but it can look awfully busy on a large day bag.

I think I might have found the happy medium in this Princess Circle wallet.

On a much smaller scale, the playful pattern doesn’t have a chance to overwhelm. It also doesn’t have the showy tassels we see on many of the bigger purses, so it seems a lot simpler. And as with all wallets, we can tuck it away inside a plainer tote bag to avoid clashing with our attire.

The interior is well appointed and practical. Shopaholics will appreciate the 10 credit card slots and three slide pockets for paper money and receipts. There’s a zippered pocket for change too, and one more on the back. It all closes shut with a snap hidden underneath the front flap.

At $30 this Princess Circle wallet is well priced for such a pretty and practical purse.

One of the world’s most loved fashion designers, Alexander McQueen, has been found dead in his London apartment. The 40-year-old, who was deeply depressed following the death of his mother last week, was found hanging in an apparent suicide.

During his illustrious career Alexander was awarded a CBE for his services to fashion and won the prestigious British Designer of the Year title four times. He also dressed some of the biggest celebrities in the world including Sarah Jessica Parker, Sandra Bullock, Naomi Campbell, and close friend Kate Moss.

Some of the fashion world’s biggest names have been quick to pay tribute to the designer.

“McQueen was daring, original, exciting,” said John Galliano, designer for Christian Dior. “He was a fashion revolutionary.”

“I found his work very interesting, never banal,” added Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld.

Alexander McQueen was due to showcase his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week next month, but this show has been canceled. I hope we get to see it at some point in the future. His fashions are the legacy he leaves us with after all.

The unusual round shape of this Coloriffics evening purse makes it worth a second glance. It really stands out in a sea of baguette and box clutches.

The round shape accentuates the soft, satiny pleats, while the traditional kiss-lock closure gives it an old Hollywood feel. The complementary satin strap makes a welcome change from those uncomfortable chains we’re used to seeing too.

What I love most though is that this purse is practical as well as pretty. The base of this round bag is flattened, so it won’t topple over once you set it down. It’s stylishly narrow, but the long, wide dimensions help it handle your evening essentials. You might even be able to squeeze in a few luxuries if you know how to pack carefully.

Coloriffics fans may be disappointed that, unlike many handbags in the label’s range, this one can’t be dyed. What you see is what you get here, so I hope you like black, brown, or ivory!

While we may not have a lot of choice, at least this evening bag is affordable. At just $38, I don’t mind compromising on the colors.

Pale, almost nude, pink is the it color of the season. I wouldn’t say it’s the new black, but it might be the new gray. It’s a little rare in handbags, which makes this slouchy bag really stand out.

The large, amorphous main compartment is a little shapeless for my taste, but I think it has a casual look that’s really cool. Personally, I need a little structure, but this will really work for more boho types or women who just don’t put a lot of stuff in their bag.

The combination of the delicate color with the chain strap is what really intrigues me. We’ve been seeing this chain strap for a while, but it looks different on this bag. The bag also has a tan leather cross body strap, which makes it a bit practical, even if it is a little shapeless. Practical until you get to the price, that is. At $1,295, I really want a little more bang.
