With its bold beaded body and metallic shine, Franchi’s Kay clutch is quite the party girl!

Kay gets her character from the unique crescent-shaped beads, which swish about as she makes her grand entrance. There’s a certain flapper girl charm about it, which is only accented by the classic shape and vintage clasp. No ordinary kiss-lock closure, this one has been engraved to look like two tiny roses. What a charming touch!

You won’t be too surprised to hear it holds very little. If you attempt to overstuff it, that clasp is sure to pop right open. The satin lining does add a little luxury to a space that feels far from luxurious.

That makes the chain strap a bit of a double-edged sword. While it’s always lovely for a clutch to offer a hands-free carrying option, I also don’t really want it cluttering up my already tiny purse. As with so many similar clutches, it’s a real shame the strap isn’t removable.

Niggles aside, this is a fun and flirty clutch for carrying to your next girls night out. You can get it in black, silver, or this unexpected red shade called wine.

Martin Margiela is to this fashion moment what Prada was to the late 1990s. Margiela is a man that is really redefining minimal chic, and I am almost always crazy for what he comes up with. This season’s accessories really epitomize the Martin Margiela aesthetic, and the Croc Effect leather bag is the perfect example.

First of all, I love gray leathergoods. Gray may be neutral, but it’s still an unexpected choice, and it looks amazing in exotic skins. Or faux exotic skins, as the case may be. Speaking of, the croc embossing on this satchel is first rate, and it adds the perfect amount of texture. Plus, since it’s actually leather, it doesn’t cost as much as croc actually would. Not that it’s cheap, mind you; this is still a top level fashion house we’re talking about.

The shape of the bag is elegant and pared down. The rounded off rectangle looks totally balanced by the slightly slim handles of the satchel. The subtle, asymmetrical ring detail adds a little hint of hardness without being too blunt about it. The size and style of this bag make it perfect for a girl looking for high quality without a lot of fuss.

This buttery soft leather bag is just the thing for a casual weekend or shopping trip. It looks slouchy and comfortable, yet at the same time is durable and strong. Even better, the thick flexible handles will hold plenty of weight whilst distributing the pressure across your shoulder, thus avoiding them digging in painfully.

Clean and design-led, this Sondra Roberts 2-tone purse channels a very art deco vibe.

The color blocked front of this clutch remind me of beaches and old-fashioned British deckchairs; there is something unexpectedly nautical about the combination. Adding complexity to what is essentially a very simple design is the subtle snakeskin texture, which does manage to make the bright playful shades look a little more sophisticated.

If the design is classy and expensive, the cost is not. This SR Squared clutch actually only costs $40, which instantly makes this a very attractive prospect indeed! Especially when you consider that unusual angular yet curved shape and the neat silver trims!

The Juliette’s style philosophy is to keep it simple, from the basic box shape to the long brown handles. With such a basic look, the rather detailed interior took me by surprise. It’s all fully lined in brown fabric to match the handles and comes with a magnetic snap to make sure your groceries stay put. I’m not sure a tote meant for shopping needs pockets in the walls, but I’m hardly going to complain about more features!

At $45 it’s not as affordable as the cheap cloth bags that many grocery stores sell, but it offers much more.

Functionality comes first with this cute and casual tote from Ellington.

I can imagine this bag being a big hit with moms, because it can easily hold the extras you need when traveling with kids. It doesn’t have the extras you’d want in a diaper bag, but those exterior pockets seem perfect for storing snacks and spare tissues. I don’t have kids myself, but I could probably make good use of those drop pouches as well! There are more pockets inside, a key-clip, not to mention plenty of usable storage space.

Canvas is notoriously hard wearing, but Ellington isn’t taking any chances. Four big plastic feet help elevate the base, protecting it from dirt and damage.

The Saratoga looks like the perfect bag for picnics and relaxed café lunches with its fun triangular shape. It could also easily work as a travel bag, as the back pockets unzip to slide over a rolling suitcase. The colors are bold but not too bright. I’m not sure any of them is the ideal complement to the tan leather trim, but this golden yellow canvas comes closest. The blue Ellington tag also looks out of place; I’d be quick to remove it once I got it home. Once that’s done, I’d happily carry the Saratoga on any casual outing.

At first glance this Tianni tote looks like it is snakeskin patterned. When you look closer, however, you realize that this is actually a clever effect generated by woven strips of wrinkled and smooth synthetic leather. Very clever!

The very feminine shade of this tote is set off well by the light-reflecting pearlized sheen that is one of the main features of this soft pink fabric. I really like the way it looks, although I would obviously prefer it if this was real buttery soft leather rather than an alternative. Still, the cute smooth shape and design do go some way for making up for the fabric’s inadequacies.

Inside this is just as sleek and stylish as it is outside. The cream fabric is classy, and although it is easily stained it does look very smart. With short handles and a streamlined look, this woven tote is just right for spring, and will hopefully last for longer than just the one season.

Oprah Winfrey’s cleaning out her rather expansive closet for charity. The American talk show queen will do a little spring cleaning next month and we’ll get the chance to nab her luxurious cast offs.

Oprah will auction 150 items on eBay including a Bottega Veneta bag and a quilted Chanel purse. Other designer goodies expected to go under the hammer are peep-toe Prada heels, Jimmy Choo pumps, and a Carolina Herrera dress. With hand-me-downs this good, I wish I could see what she’s keeping!

No doubt these designer fashion items will raise a pretty penny for Oprah Winfrey’s school, the Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.

This Eenamaria travel tote definitely creates some expectations with its quirky name. But does it live up to the moniker?

Unlike many Eenamaria bags, I think this one does. It’s enormous, so it should have the space to hold what you need for a day trip or short getaway. The interior design isn’t very innovative, but it’s got several useful pockets. One side has a long, deep zippered pouch, while the other has a couple of open slips.

The name tells us this tote means business (or least bizniss!), but it’d look pretty out of place in any boardroom. Personally for me, that’s a positive. Those colorful retro patterns are what makes Eenamaria bags so endearing, and I’d hate to see the brand abandon that style for something more middle of the road.

My only real gripe is with the handles. They’re simply too short for a bag we’re supposed to load up. Can you imagine struggling through a crowded airport with this tote? Longer handles, or even a removable shoulder strap, would have made our lives much easier.
