Juicy girls don’t have to give up their trademark sense of style once the stork arrives with this Juicy Couture Velour Baby Tote.
This is signature Juicy Couture, from the plush velour body to the embroidered Scotch Terrier crest. Thankfully though, it’s a little more reserved than many of the label’s designs. The colored choices of lagoon blue and vivid pink look almost sedate with their complementary trim and embroidery, while the black version only appears more modern with contrasting white accents.
The generously sized tote is backed up with plenty of pockets inside and out. The deep zip pockets are great for stashing binkies and tiny toys, while the gusseted side pouches seem tailor made for baby bottles and juice boxes. There are six more open pockets inside (goodness knows moms don’t need to deal with any more zips) and a handy change pad for those diaper emergencies!
I hesitate at the material used though. Juicy Couture girls love some velour, but it’s hardly a practical choice when you’ve got a baby on your hip. Sticky fingers and baby sick will make that plush fabric feel gritty before too long. Something that wipes clean may not have been as alluring, but it would have been smarter.
The straps are also disappointing. With just a five and a half inch drop, they won’t fit on the shoulder of women carrying a little extra baby fat. And busy moms know, when you’ve got a child or two a hands-free carrying option is a must!
Those flaws make the price tag of almost $300 seem steep, but not exorbitant for the brand’s loyal fans.
