Pampered pooches are nothing new. We’ve all seen princesses carrying their tiny tiara wearing dogs in Louis Vuitton carriers. But an Australian company has gone one step further by creating designer purses for pups.

Snooty Paws looks to satisfy the poshest dogs and their owners with accessories like Dior-styled “Dogior” toys and “Sniffany & Co” squeaky playthings. The store also offers faux fur stoles, Puppia Pink tennis caps, and even dog-sized crystal necklaces!

Boutique owner Clea Sandler says her store caters to empty-nesters who enjoy treating their puppies like furry children.

“It’s becoming more popular and common in Australia for people to dress up their dogs,” she said.

Personally I think it’s catering to folks who have more money than sense. I’d much rather spend my cash on an authentic Christian Dior purse for myself than a replica one for a dog that doesn’t understand luxury! He’ll probably be just as happy chasing a cheap tennis ball after all!

I love the crisp appeal of this white linen shopper, although I’m under no illusions that it’ll look so pristine for long. It’s a big improvement on the metallic pyrite bag though which looks a little glitzy for everyday use.

Italian fashion house Borbonese has teamed up with the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation for its Art Bag Anniversary Collection.

There are twelve different bags in the collection including clutch purses and large totes. The styles are simple, with minimalist hardware and traditional shapes. That allows the screenprinted Lichtenstein prints to take center stage, but it also makes me question the value of these bags. An authentic Lichtenstein painting will sell for millions, but does that make this simple Two Apples Tote bearing the pop artist’s design worth $787?

Sure the trim is actual leather, and it’s got an Italian pedigree, but I frankly can’t see the value. If you’re still smitten you can score this bag and others in the collection at Luisa Via Roma’s online store.
