It seems that girls love structured and unusual bag designs at the moment, and CC Skye has produced the Benatar clutch to get in on the trend. Personally, beautiful folded or woven leather creations are among some of my favorite handbag styles, which explains why I love the soft wrinkled leather that has been neatly interwoven in this luxurious day purse. The combination of the soft leather and the shiny metal chain manages to make the bag look a little funkier, without using in-your-face bling or diamante.

The meeting of textured weave and contrasting metal is the winning feature of this bag, which explains why the designer has opted to keep the shape simple. Let the structure speak for itself, that is what I say! The inside is just as simple, with curved edges leading into a glossy zipped satin lining. But the lack of pockets is a little annoying, as it means you have nowhere discrete to put your valuables.

At $150 this certainly isn’t cheap, but it is structured, woven, and gorgeous!

If I’ve ever seen a design more confused than the bold print gracing Ed Hardy’s Paz bag I can’t recall it.

At first glance we see a free-spirited peace sign against a wild leopard print backdrop. But look a little closer and you’ll see edgy skulls and flower power blooms nestled inside the free love symbol. It’s a strange juxtaposition; the flowers and peace sign are hippie chic, the skulls remind me of biker babes, and the leopard print calls cougars to mind! No other designer would ever combine these looks, but Ed Hardy is no ordinary designer. Dare I say that it works?

If the look tickles your fancy, the execution won’t change your mind. The interior is every bit as large as a piece of carry-on luggage should be. You’ll have no problems fitting some toiletries, a change of clothes, a novel, and even a laptop inside the Paz.

The short handles could have been a drawback, but Ed Hardy corrects the problem by adding a much longer shoulder strap. I can’t imagine ever removing the feature; you need that hands-free carrying option when pushing suitcases about an airport terminal after all!

My biggest problem here is the price. The $250 tag simply seems too steep for a bag made from fabric and synthetic.

If you’re looking for a truly luxurious shopping spree, head to Louis Vuitton and Burberry. In a recent study The Luxury Institute found these fashion houses offered their customers the best in-store shopping experiences.

The institute quizzed more than 200 Manhattan shoppers who frequent the New York borough’s most prestigious stores. They were asked about their shopping experiences, taking into account the merchandise offered, customer service received, and store atmosphere.

Louis Vuitton and Burberry topped all three categories. Their customers said they felt valued by the brands, who offered polite and helpful sales staff and a positive atmosphere in store.

It’s great news for these designer labels, but not so good for Gucci who took the title last year. Is the Italian brand slipping?

Stone Mountain is a brand which rarely breaks the rules, which is just how its fans like it. Totes like the Davenport may not dazzle us like the latest It bags, but you’ll find yourself pulling them out of the closet time and time again.

This is a reliable tote. Its classic shape and conservative colors are inoffensive, and perhaps even a bit boring, but it’ll never look passé. The subtle pleating on the front pockets adds a little interest, but it still doesn’t have the power to wow us.

That’s OK though, because what Stone Mountain lacks in excitement it makes up for in practicality. Those external pockets are just the start of the functional features. The interior has another, along with three slide pouches for your gadgets. There’s a key fob too, and a zip top to keep your precious cargo safe and sound. You won’t fit a lot of luxuries inside, but the dimensions cater for everything you really need.

The dual handles are long, perhaps too long. Honestly they make the design seem a little unbalanced, but too much strap is always better than not enough. And I’m sure the Davenport won’t seem so out of proportion when it’s sitting on your shoulder.

You might struggle to spend $146 on a purse that doesn’t inspire a great deal of passion, but its classic design makes the Davenport a worthwhile investment.

Anya Hindmarch is a newer designer, but she is quickly becoming a major player. Her sophisticated, feminine aesthetic has been taken up by fashionistas the world over. The Rossum clutch is a little sweeter than her usual fare, but it will definitely find an audience with Hindmarch regulars.

There’s something about this clutch that reminds me of Easter. I guess it’s the combination of weaving and white with the bow. In any case, I don’t mean that as a criticism. This bag has a fresh, clean, daytime look that will work from now until September, and even later if you’re a Labor Day rule-breaker.

The soft, rounded shape complements the woven texture beautifully, and the central bow is really a nice touch. I like that it’s woven in instead of applied to the bag, as an actual, three-dimensional bow would be too much. Instead, the only ornamentation is a preppy tassel that just looks perfect with the rest of the bag.

Overall, this clutch is well-balanced and versatile. It’s not exactly on the cutting edge of fashion, but it has a classic appeal that is timeless.

Wow, this bag is gorgeous!

Simply put, this Big Buddha clutch is a stunning example of how an affordable brand can create something that looks like it is designer. Everything about this layered purse, from the contrasting black edging to the wavy rose feature, all look incredibly classy and well-designed. To get such good looks for just $50 is practically unheard of.

Yes, I love this bag. It is probably too dressy for daytime wear, but for a wedding or posh night out the spiraling flower will look great. Though you don’t get real leather for such a bargain price, the designers have made a good effort to make it look reasonably realistic, which is yet another added bonus.

Whilst a shoulder-strap option would have been nice, we can’t really complain about the practicality; especially as this structured clutch has lots of pockets and lots of room.

This is a bargain that will give expensive designer purses a run for their money!

And by refusing to toe to trends, Bodhi has created a purse which will never look passé. That might just make the $318 price tag a little easier to swallow.
