For a night time look, you can really make use of the trends that are all over the High Street at the moment. Team the studs and gray canvas with a soft floaty chiffon skirt and coordinating peach top, for utter girlishness. To hold the look together, make sure that you use accessories with bronze colors and metallic oomph, as this will make it evening appropriate. I opted for stunning metallic sandals and a matching styled belt, to really make it pop.

For people who are fed up with the floaty girly fashion that is dominating the High Street and designer collections this spring, then Latico may have just provided the ultimate alternative.

Everything about this little clutch pulls against the chiffon and the ruffles. The bright mustard yellow leather will clash with everything currently in the shops, giving you the chance to pull out those skinny jeans and last years 80’s inspired jacket. At the same time you are given punky attitude with the inclusion of those funky buckle details, which don’t only look cool, but which neatly secure the purse too. Even the floral interior is in a different style to the somewhat chintzy flowers that seem to be on every available surface at the moment.

Of course, the problem with the Mimi in Memphis wristlet is that its rebellious nature will mean that you may have trouble buying new clothes to match it. Still I think it is worth it, if only as a break from a very dominant fashion season. Plus, it is so versatile and convenient that it is worth the extra effort, so that you can use the multiple slots, pockets and compartments to their best advantage.

I know that oversized bows are all the rage, but I wonder whether Menbur’s Paris Clutch may have taken the trend too far! The bow is so big, we can barely see the bag at all!

This purse is more than a little silly, but I actually don’t mind it. It’s feminine to be sure, but the soft gray shade stops it from looking too girly. The satin material gives the bow perfect pleats, and the right amount of red carpet glamour.

Behind that we get a traditional kiss-lock frame clutch. There are no real surprises with the design so the bare back does look a little bland. The interior’s also no risk taker, although it’s a shade larger than most bags of this kind. The frame design means you won’t fit too much more inside, but it might help you squeeze in a few extra cosmetic items.

I’m not sure how easy the bow will be to handle, so I’m thrilled to see a strap included. So often clutches look ungainly once chains are attached, but I actually prefer it this way. It’s a rare thing to see style and convenience meet, and I appreciate it when it does.

I hesitate to spend big bucks on purses which may be considered novelty, so I’m thrilled to see this one priced at just $79. That sounds like a steal for a sure-fire conversation starter!

While Rebecca Minkoff is upscaling, Jil Sander is going in the opposite direction. The designer will release a more affordable line under the moniker Jil Sander Navy.

The collection, which has been described as “casual lux,” is hoping to attract younger, budget-conscious customers. They’ll enjoy the minimalism Jil Sander is known for but at a much lower price. Goodies in the Jil Sander Navy range will start at just £100. There’ll be a broad range of items on offer, including dresses, skirts, pants, blouses, shoes, and purses.

The company’s creative director Raf Simons says he sees the Navy range as an expansion of the Jil Sander house. Unlike the J+ line for Uniqlo which Jil Sander exclusively oversaw, Simons and the rest of the crew at Jil Sander will help to shape the new collection. That should see it more closely aligned to the runway designs we’ve all admired recently. I can’t wait to see it in stores!

J. Furmani takes us back to fashion’s golden age with this Designer Vintage Evening Bag.

Oversized bags are a contemporary luxury, so it’s no surprise to see this beaded beauty is teeny tiny. That means you’ll struggle to fit the modern conveniences inside, but you should be able to carry a handkerchief and a small compact for powdering your nose!

The chain wrist strap is one contemporary perk I’m happy to see. It’s always great to have a hands-free carrying option as the evening wears on. Happily this is detachable too, so it need not clutter your purse when it’s not in use.

You’d probably pay less in your local thrift store, but $70 doesn’t seem like a bad price for such a beautiful bag.

The range, not so cleverly titled the Rebecca Minkoff Collection, sees the label’s iconic designs updated with luxury accents. Some of the improvements we can look forward to are plush calfskin leathers, authentic python skins, and genuine rose gold hardware.

Of course, you’re going to pay for all of these improvements. While the typical Rebecca Minkoff bags are priced between $195 and $695, the Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive accessories will cost up to $2000.

When I heard the current Queen of the Bizarre Lady Gaga arrived at Tokyo’s Narita Airport carrying a Hermes Birkin I was shocked. Surely the trendsetting Gaga wasn’t succumbing to the charms of modern status items! But I should have known that the pop star wouldn’t play by the rules.
