The biggest secret is the use of luxury vachetta leather, a much more sophisticated alternative to the canvas and nylon we typically see in this style. The design is also clean and chic; the practical external pockets are the only elements which break the pebbled leather. They’re well incorporated into the design though so you never feel like they’re interrupting the Apollo’s appearance.

Chic looks are well and good, but a backpack should be made for convenience. The four external pockets are just the start of that story. The Apollo is generous without being unwieldy; you could fit a binder or a small laptop inside, but it doesn’t give you more space than you really need. There are more pockets inside too for carrying keys, sunglasses, pens, and other essentials.

You can load the Apollo up without feeling the burn as its straps are padded for comfort. That makes this a great backpack for times you’re on the go, whether you’re facing the daily commute or enjoying some down time!

At $159 it’s pricier than your average backpack, but I think its grown-up style makes it worth the splurge.

Following the sad closure of their fashion house Lambertson Truex last year, design duo Richard Lambertson and John Truex are back with a line for Tiffany & Co.

The first ever Tiffany Leather Goods line is just as sparkly and brilliant as you might expect from a Tiffany’s collection. It takes its inspiration from the legendary jewelry line’s pretty gems and trinkets, but reinterprets them in a uniquely Lambertson Truex way. We expect to see jewel tones and plenty of tasteful bling, including bracelet and necklace inspired delicate handles.

This photo printed in the August edition of Vogue shows us the first of 43 different bags in the range. This lizard skin beauty is called the Laurelton. Its frame design is undeniably chic, and Tiffany’s eggshell blue lining should make the brand’s fans swoon. You’ll need to start saving though, because at $4800 this is a significant handbag investment!

The Tiffany Leather Goods range will hit Tiffany stores this September.

Comic-Con attendees will receive commemorative canvas tote bags celebrating the best in pop culture at this year’s San Diego convention.

Warner Bros has been offering these kinds of bags from its booth for the last four years, but with the entertainment studio signing on as an official sponsor this year they’ll now be placed directly in the hands of the fans.

There are 11 different totes available during check-in at this year’s event featuring cult television programs and comic books like The Vampire Diaries, Brightest Day, Fringe, and Looney Tunes. One side features the program or comic series graphics, while the other proudly displays the Comic-Con 2010 artwork.

Stocks of each oversized signature tote are limited, so if your heart is set on a particular one you’ll need to get in quickly. They’ll be handed out throughout the pop culture convention’s five days, including the preview night.

Looney Tunes Totes on eBay

If you thought all evening wristlets were created equal, then think again. Savanna turns the tired old wristlet on its head with this unusual crinkled satin purse.

The difference comes from the wrist strap, which rather than hanging from the side stands up proudly from the top. I really like the concept; ordinarily purses appear a bit awkward dangling from a funny angle, but here the original look is preserved. I’m just not sure about the execution.

Where most wrist straps are detachable, this one seems firmly fixed. If you wanted to carry the purse as a clutch, or as a shoulder bag with the longer attachable strap, it seems it will still stick up proudly. I suppose you could try tucking it away inside, but I’m not sure how easily the purse will close then.

I’m also just not sure about the purse’s look. It’s got a lot going on, and I’m not sure any element really feels integrated. The shape has a vaguely Asian appeal, the pleats are chic, and the rhinestones high class. I would have liked any of these accents on their own, but all together I’m just not sure.

But at least it doesn’t cost the earth. Savanna sorts out your evening look here for a mere $32.

Daisy Lowe is making the leap from fashion model to designer with the launch of her first collection for French label Morgan.

The range is set to feature clothing and accessories, including sexy mini skirts, flirty leather handbags, and playful lurex dresses. We need not assume these items will be for stick-thin supermodel types either, as Daisy’s made no secret of her love of curvy women.

“I love women with bigger bottoms and larger thighs,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “I think it’s so sexy.“

Daisy will also step behind the camera to star in the range’s advertising campaign. It promises to be a fun commercial, with Daisy pairing up with her gal pals to prepare for a night on the town.

Daisy Lowe’s Morgan line will be available at a wide range of price points, with items ranging from $30 to $440. We’ll find the fashion items in Morgan stores and online from November 4.

Golden metal zipper trim brings a little edge to this Sally wallet from Sara Berman.

The Sally is a curious creature; frills are always feminine, but the metal tempers the look. It’s still girly, but not overwhelmingly so. It’s a very modern interpretation of the look, and one which modern ladies should love.

The interior is simple by wallet standards, but I don’t really see that as a flaw. If you’re a shopaholic you may want for more credit card slots, but there’s something appealing about the Sally’s simplicity. The zippered pocket is luxuriously large when compared to other wallets, and we’re never left wondering where we put our bits and pieces.

At a couple of hundred dollars though, this is a very pricey purse. Sure it’s real leather, but I can’t imagine spending so much on a wallet which will sit at the bottom of a bag for most of its life. If you’re traveling light though, the Sally would make a fun alternative to a clutch!
