Latico reminds us that backpacks aren’t simply for school kids with this chic Apollo from its Heritage Collection.
The biggest secret is the use of luxury vachetta leather, a much more sophisticated alternative to the canvas and nylon we typically see in this style. The design is also clean and chic; the practical external pockets are the only elements which break the pebbled leather. They’re well incorporated into the design though so you never feel like they’re interrupting the Apollo’s appearance.
Chic looks are well and good, but a backpack should be made for convenience. The four external pockets are just the start of that story. The Apollo is generous without being unwieldy; you could fit a binder or a small laptop inside, but it doesn’t give you more space than you really need. There are more pockets inside too for carrying keys, sunglasses, pens, and other essentials.
You can load the Apollo up without feeling the burn as its straps are padded for comfort. That makes this a great backpack for times you’re on the go, whether you’re facing the daily commute or enjoying some down time!
At $159 it’s pricier than your average backpack, but I think its grown-up style makes it worth the splurge.

I’ve always been a little hesitant to wear animal print. The wild spots and stripes of jungle creatures are timelessly fashionable, but worn the wrong way they can also look a bit tacky. After spotting the Erica purse from J. Renee though, I think I’m ready to change my tune. It reminds us that, as with most things in life, when it comes to animal print less is definitely more.
Does anyone else remember the ubiquity of the drawstring bag at the end of the 80s? They ran the gamut from the chic Chanel version to a woven cloth version that neo-hippie chicks carried. Well, Alexander Wang has updated the style in his Diego bucket in a way that walks the line between preppy and edgy.
Miu Miu has come out with a lot of winning designs this season. It seems to be moving towards a less edgy, but still quirky and stylish aesthetic that will appeal to a more mature woman than it has historically targeted. This bow clutch combines its youthful design sensibility with a very grown up elegance.
If you thought all evening wristlets were created equal, then think again. Savanna turns the tired old wristlet on its head with this unusual crinkled satin purse.
Golden metal zipper trim brings a little edge to this Sally wallet from Sara Berman.
Most of the time, Miu Miu is on the very sharp side of cutting edge fashion. But sometimes it reworks a preppy favorite in a totally unexpected way that unites conservative traditionalism and avant gardism. The horn-strap suede tote is one of those designs.
