If you’re looking for a fun, flirty accessory that you won’t see on the arms of every other fashionista look no further than Ashard Richley.
The Texas-based brand was born when in 2009, former B&D and Coach designer Ashley Burghardt decided she could go it alone. Her co-conspirator and then-fiancé Richard admitted he had no fashion experience and questionable taste, so he’d simply have to trust her. If the brand’s current crop of bags is anything to go by, it seems the gamble paid off.
It seems Ashley learned a thing or two in her tenures at these fashion houses. The feminine ruffles and delicate studding we see on many Ashard Richley bags are particularly reminiscent of many Be & D designs.
Not that the bags are mere imitators. The row of ruffles on the Ashtyn turns this messenger into something flirty and fun. The asymmetrical flap and flurry of studs makes the Aziza shoulder bag feel very rock and roll.
If you’re considering adding an Ashard Richley bag to your collection the prices should help seal the deal. All the purses currently available are priced at less than $100! They’re available from selected American boutiques and the Ashard Richley website.

With the Brooke, Ellington brings us a classic bowler bag with a healthy dose of modern style.
Valentino might be one of the first designers I think of when I think “chic” or “ladylike”, but he certainly isn’t one of the first designers I think of when I think “hip”. Which makes this fringed bucket bag a definite departure from the line’s usual style, because it is nothing if it is not hip. Which is not to say that it isn’t chic, because it really strikes a great balance between the two.
Boston bags tend to be fairly staid affairs, but 7 Chi shakes things up a bit with this Tie-Dye Boston style satchel.
Jimmy Choo’s past few seasons have totally converted me from an absolute naysayer to a woman who fawns and drools over every new thing he comes up with. Why? Because his style is evolving into a more street smart elegance that appeals to downtown types like me. This Adele fringed bag is bound to win over a few new converts like me.
With her Sacs Bio collection, Swiss designer Ira Grant easily marries style with eco-friendly practices.
Betsey Johnson is never a designer to do things by halves. With this Slither Around barrel bag from her Betseyville line, Betsey delivers a handbag that’s big and bold. Whether it’s beautiful though is really a matter of personal taste!
Latico’s Vyntage collection might take its inspiration from vintage fashion, but purses like this framed baguette bag are like nothing your grandmother would ever imagine. It’s a curious mix of classic frame purse and traditional baguette, although the result is far from typical!
