Ooh, this bag is sexy. I suspect I am not the only girl who will see this designer tote with its sleek black lines and have that kind of reaction.

I can tell that I am going to have a hard time critically evaluating this hold-all. It is just too pretty. In fact, the only flaw I can see, aside from the painful $545 price tag, is that the chain on the handle may be a little overly shiny. However, I admit that I am clutching at straws, as even shiny chains manage to somehow make the Garden Grove Marguerite look classier!

OK, so why do I love this leather tote so much? Well, the incredible complexity has to be a major factor. That detailed floral pattern means that this bag looks as good close up as it does from a distance, and the black-on-black design means that it avoids looking in any way over the top. The faille underlining that you can see through the cutouts ups the luxury ante too. Meanwhile, inside Kate Spade has kept to her vintage inspired roots, with a classic yet subtle spotted fabric lining.

This sumptuous bag may be pricey. But my god, it is pretty!

Lots of zips add a very on trend utilitarian look to this otherwise designer Rebecca Minkoff cross-body.

The BF has enough practicality to live up to its name, and really be a girl’s best friend. That is thanks to the compact size, perfect for when you only need a few belongings, and also thanks to the little pockets that are ideal for keeping your life organized. This practicality and versatility is just emphasized further by the easy to wear but still luxurious crocodile print leather, and the long and convenient shoulder strap.

Of course, a small pouch like the BF isn’t going to meet all your handbags needs. That just isn’t the way the world works. At this point it all comes down to your personal opinions as to whether you think $165 is a fair price to pay for a little purse. Personally I don’t think it is overpriced thanks to the great exotic print leather and the sexy and sophisticated interior.

This is a great little bag that I would love to own!

Who says that chic and sophisticated accessories have to cost the earth? Aldo reduced the bottom line with this surprisingly affordable Zenon bag.

From a distance this beautiful bag looks like it’s come from an Italian fashion house. There’s the smooth black surface, the pop of golden hardware, and the minimalist design. But looks can be deceiving of course, as no Italian label would ever charge just $40 for a handbag.

Once you start to pull it apart you realize the corners that Aldo has cut to keep that price down. The body isn’t Italian leather, but it is a pretty stylish synthetic. It’s also quite small; Aldo seems reluctant to release its dimensions, but many customers have reported being upset by its petite stature. That makes the Zenon a special occasion bag rather than an everyday staple. That role probably suits it best though, as its synthetic fabric will last longer with more sporadic use.

I wouldn’t see the size necessarily as a negative. After all, those high end fashion houses happily charge a small fortune for the tiniest of purses. In the Zenon, Aldo gives girls on a budget what they need to project an aura of polish and poise.

Aging sex symbol Brigitte Bardot has waged war on French First Lady Carla Bruni, and it seems a humble handbag is behind the feud.

Bardot is furious because she received no thank you note when she gifted Bruni with one of the limited edition Lancel handbags from her self-titled BB collection. She made her views clear in a recent interview with French glossy, France Dimanche.

“I have received no thank you note whatsoever from Carla Bruni, who is as beautiful as she is badly brought-up,” Bardot said.

Bardot is also incensed because Bruni, an animal rights activist, has not encouraged her husband, president Nicholas Sarkozy, to ban the sport of bull fighting.

“My anger is only just starting!” Bardot continued. “But I’m like a pit bull – when I start to bite someone I don’t let go easily.“

I don’t doubt that for a second. Bruni’s camp has refused to respond to Bardot’s fighting words, but I don’t think this will be the last we’ll hear of this feud!

Adidas tells us this Zakhary bag isn’t a backpack, it’s a sackpack. Whatever you call it, this accessory is one cool and casual customer.

Its name comes from the simple, sack style which is without form but not without charm. In a matte color it may have looked drab, but the retro cassette tapes emblazoned over the red polyester body helps this sackpack really pop.

That simplicity extends to the inside. Some may prefer more organizational features than the large main compartment provides, but it does allow us to carry much larger, bulkier goods than a divided handbag would. The drawstring closure adds to the casual sense of cool while keeping all your goodies safe and sound.

I’m not sure about those backpack straps though. While the two straps should help to distribute weight evenly, they look too skinny to be really comfortable once this sackpack is full. I’d be careful what you’re stashing inside if you want carefree carrying.

The Zakhary isn’t trying to be a high-end fashion accessory. It’s made for more down to earth girls, who just want to stash their stuff inside a bag and get moving. They’ve also got more important things to spend their cash on than fashion, so the bargain $20 price tag should be right up their alley.

Accessorize throws caution to the wind with this whimsical Belle Crazy Corsage bag.

The name suggests that Accessorize knows exactly how zany this purse is. But by embracing its folly, rather than attempting to convince us that it’s high fashion, the British label might just get away with this design risk. I’m definitely drawn to the colorful patterned petals of this corsage accent, although I’m not sure I could pull off the look!

I’m also not sure I could get by with such a small purse. Its kiss-lock clasp will pop open if your try to overstuff it, so it really is a case of essentials only. That might suit you on an evening out or a coffee break, but it’ll never make the day to night transition.

At least Accessorize keeps the price right. This is a bag with limitations, but it’s rare to find a purse which makes such a bold style statement for just £25. Pair it with your favorite dark denims or a little black dress to give your outfit a real lift!

If you love Hello Kitty, then chances are you will love this fun little shoulder bag.

Personally, I can never make up my mind about a bag like this. On the one hand it is a fun little creation, perfect for those who love to put a bit of kitsch tongue-in-cheek fun into their outfits. I know many people who could wear this quilted tote with Harajuku inspired style, and who would look damn good whilst doing it.

On the other hand, however, this is a giant Hello Kitty head with handles. And that, in itself, is bound to be a little bit odd. It certainly isn’t suitable for work, and whilst it is fun-loving it also hovers uneasily on the boundary between fun and just plain silly.

Practically, this bag has a few issues. Sure it is nice inside and it certainly has room, but what is with those somewhat over-sized black handles?! To me they don’t tie in with the theme, and I think they are what is putting me off this affordable handbag most of all.

This is a good laugh, and I bet there are people out there who can make it look very cool indeed. Unfortunately those people don’t include me!

For flowers with a flourish, this Sondra Roberts box clutch is an elegant and rather beautiful option.

OK, so there is something utterly impractical about a rigid box purse that is coated in soft satin petals with a beautiful sheen. It certainly isn’t the type of thing that you could put under pressure on a night out; it would have to be treated with delicacy and a whole lot of respect to ensure that it stays in tip top condition. Still, if you want a fancy evening bag then durability probably isn’t your biggest priority, and looks win out.

And what looks! The rich golden shade may limit its applications, but even so this is a stunner. The boring and predictable box shape is largely hidden by those fluid and very sensual petals, meaning that this bag could very easily make you look incredibly sexy. The over the top and flirty design will mean the rest of your outfit needs to be quite subtle, but it could work like a charm.

Surprisingly reasonably priced at $99, this will be the stand out bag at most parties, without you having to spend hundreds of dollars.

Abas shows us that exotic style doesn’t have to cost the earth with this luxurious looking Molly bag.

Embossed snakeskin purses are a dime a dozen, but few look as convincing as Abas accessories. The label gets the rich mottled scales just right, and while some of the shades may not resemble real reptiles they look so stylish that I don’t mind one bit. This subtle Grecian White purse is my favorite, but it’s one of six possible hues.

I love the clean, retro design of the Molly, but I’m not sure of its execution. With flaps folded down, the purse works as a clutch. The problem is that when such a large purse is full it’ll be difficult to carry in your hand. Abas tries to help us out with cut-out handles built into these flaps, but when the Molly is converted we’re presented with some new challenges. Those handles look gorgeous, but they’re too small for comfortable carrying. Unfortunately we’ll probably need to leave a few things behind to make the Molly user-friendly, but what a shame we can’t utilize all that storage space!

She is a lovely looking creature though, and for many handbag fans that will be enough to convince them. Well that and the price, which at $225 is much less than any authentic snakeskin accessory!
