Proenza Schouler has released this eerie video to celebrate the upcoming launch of its patent leather PS1. We’re excited about the thought of this satchel, but we can’t understand this video at all.
Honestly this feels more like the work of some pretentious college film student than a major fashion house. From the grainy camera work to the surreal music, it seems to be trying very hard to be abstract. Poor Danielle Zinaich seems a bit aimless as she wanders about the countryside. And no PS1 ever deserves to find itself dumped in the creek. Thank goodness Danielle is on hand to save the soggy satchel!
I really don’t identify with this marketing technique, but I suppose it makes a refreshing change from the glossy fashion ads we usually see. It’s also got the blogosphere talking, which can only be a good thing for the brand. What do you think of the video?
The patent leather PS1 will be available exclusively from the Proenza Schouler website at the end of the month.

When I spotted this Big Buddha hobo, I was struck by a sense of déjà vu. I double-checked and triple-checked, but there was no record of us talking about it here. Unfortunately it’s just like so many Big Buddha hobos that have gone before.

Ethical fashionistas may be shunning authentic animal fur, but nothing says winter like a lush, furry accessory. Bisadora gives us the best of both worlds on a budget with this lovely faux fur hobo.
Who says a simple evening bag needs to be boring? This subtly clever purse from La Regale manages to be smart whilst still having a good dose of personality.
