I’ve always been of the opinion that Uggs should be kept on one’s feet, but the brand’s Aviator hobo is forcing me to reconsider my stance.

I’ve never seen Ugg Australia delivering a handbag so fashion forward. The secret is of course hiding the shearling away inside, so we see just a hint of the fuzzy fur.

The exterior is made from sumptuously soft brown distressed leather. The weathered look makes this neutral color seem much more interesting than it would otherwise. The tassel seems like unnecessary clutter, but I’ll concede that it does give this hobo a little more boho style. Thankfully it’s easily removable if you prefer a cleaner look.

With an Ugg bag its interior is almost as big a draw card as its exterior. Sticking your hand inside this purse is like getting a big hug; it’s soft and warm and oh so appealing, particularly in the depths of winter. The pale shearling will probably mark in time, but as it’s hidden away no one need know. The space is large enough for everyday use, and well appointed with a pair of patch pockets and a zippered compartment.

At $278 this Aviator bag isn’t cheap, but it’s certainly the pick of Ugg Australia’s designs.

Guess has opened the doors of a brand new flagship store on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue. The 13, 000 square feet space is now open for business at number 575.

The boutique houses an impressive collection spread across two floors. The first floor is for the ladies, with its denim bar, and sections for shoes, handbags, jewelry, and apparel. The men’s selection is housed on the second floor, but it’s not strictly a boys club. This is where you’ll also find swimwear and other summer staples. The over-sized leather chairs are perfect for lounging on while your partner is trying on some new designer fashions.

The chain chandeliers made by a local New York artist ensure the space enjoys plenty of light. Metal mannequins and a Guess emblem created by more than one thousand jeans buttons help to give the new outlet its own sense of style.

This is a really clever and quirky purse, which shuns traditional materials for a more eco-smart alternative. The pop tops are crocheted together using nylon thread to create a fun, metallic exterior.

I can appreciate the look of this trash turned treasure, but I’m not sure about its use on the wrist strap. I always appreciate a hands-free carry option, and this one does create a cohesive look. But can you imagine how the metal would feel against your bare skin? Choosing a soft organic cotton or hemp would have been just as green, and much more forgiving.

It’s rare to find a purse that makes such a definitive style statement for just $23.99 though. If you want to tell the world that you prefer your accessories green, this is an affordable way to do it.

Stella McCartney’s line for Adidas is her best work, as far as I’m concerned. It’s her most reasonably priced, and her minimal aesthetic goes very well with the sporty style of Adidas. This twill shoulder bag is a match made in designer heaven at an unbelievable price.

I’m not a huge fan of khaki on pants, but the olive green twill on this bag looks crisp and fresh. Since there’s no leather on the bag, it will be easy to keep it clean. The taupe canvas shoulder strap combines well with the khaki, but it does make the look a little neutral. Maybe bland is a better word? In any case, I can’t decide whether the color scheme is refreshingly simple or just simple.

The design makes up for any lack of complexity in the color palette. It’s minimalist, but with great pleated details that give it a lot of personality. Plus, there’s the convenience of side pockets, which should never be overlooked.

The combination of practicality, versatility, and affordability make this bag a great choice at only $95. Way to go, Stella; this is a bag I can really get behind.

We all love our designer handbags, but when you’re preparing to face another working week those It bags just aren’t going to cut it. That’s when a practical messenger like this one from Tusk really comes into its own.

Tusk calls it a briefcase, but it’s much more relaxed than most bags of that type. It’s certainly not slovenly, but the pop of the rusty red strap and combination of buffalo leather and nylon makes it look less buttoned up. Treesje delivers a purse with enough attitude and functional features to take you from day to night with this Spokes convertible clutch.

So many clutch purses are covered with frills and frippery, which relegates them to after five. But not the Spokes, who prefers the taste of silvery metal. Travelon seems determined to muscle in on Pacsafe’s territory with this Carry Safe Anti-Theft hobo.

Ordinarily I’d gravitate towards the pretty blue shade, but the unobtrusive tan nylon is almost an added security feature!
