We’ve all coveted purses made of pony hair and handbags crafted from rabbit fur. But what about the hair of a humble housecat? Danielle Groomer from South Carolina has cornered the market on these unique fur bags.

Cat groomer Danielle was bothered by the leftover cat hair she accumulated during her day. And so she decided to spin the unwanted fur into a “beautiful, smooth, silky yarn” to create handbags for each cat’s owner. The devoted pet lovers adore the purses which serve a dual purpose. They allow cat fans to carry a little piece of their prized pet every day, and are unique keepsakes when their kitty passes on.

It’s all strangely touching, and more than a little bit strange. I suppose it’s a little less creepy than the pet owners who stuff their furry friends when they die, but only just!

But at least no animals are harmed in the making of these handbags. Perhaps Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfield could learn a thing or two from this vid!

There’s one recent fashion trend that is easy to follow: color, color, and more color. Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. collection is usually a great place to look for handbags with bright colors and bold patterns. The celebrity designer’s style, exemplified in her bags, is generally tasteful with a funky twist. However, occasionally one of the L.A.M.B. purses stands out from the others as a classic option.

Although the Darjeeling handbag has some unusual touches, it has the look of a traditional purse with the familiar satchel shape. I love the modern color-blocking that catches your eye, particularly on the red claret option. The clean lines give this bag a simple look, at least simple when compared to other L.A.M.B bags.

This is no wallflower, though. The Darjeeling does have some interesting features that keep it from looking too predictable. The most noticeable detail is the beautiful blend of bright colors, a quality most likely earning the bag’s name in reference to traditional colorful styles found in India where Darjeeling is located. Though it is also available in a blend of black and brown, the combination of red, blue, and yellow is far more appealing to me and makes the handbag unique. Gold accents make this satchel sparkle a bit, and decorative buckles cinch in the sides.

Cream canvas stripes running down the front break up the colors and give the bag a touch of typical L.A.M.B. style. Another signature detail is the black and white striped interior lining as well as a gold plate displaying the L.A.M.B. logo. The classic yet somewhat unexpected Darjeeling satchel is priced at $495 and is also available as a clutch.

Celebrities love the whimsical and sophisticated Miu Miu Coffer. Bad girl Lindsay Lohan, who was the face of Miu Miu’s 2007 ad campaign, has been seen with it, as well as bombshell Demi Moore and America’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon. Which is all to say that this little lovely appeals to a wide variety of A-list tastes, and will probably do the same out here in the “real world”. 

I love everything about this bag from its braided leather handle down to its futuristic silver hinge and lock clasp. The pleating on the bag is done with extreme attention to detail, and I love how the wrinkles set off the smooth sheen of the black leather. 

The two press stud closure exterior pockets aren’t just a practical way to keep your little necessities organized, they also add another layer of delicious detail to this heavily designed, but still elegant, handbag. The top flap closure opens to a generous interior with an inside zipper pocket.

To make it even more versatile, the Coffer comes with a detachable shoulder strap, just in case you fill its 11.75″ x 15″ x 2.5″ capacity to the brim, and can’t bear to carry it by hand anymore. The only possible drawback I see is the slimness of the shoulder strap. It may not actually be that comfortable if you really do pack this bag to the top.

Still, shoulder strap or no, I would carry the Coffer anywhere and everywhere!

Dolce & Gabbana loves to adorn its fashions and handbags with diamonds and pearls. In fact, the luxury label loves precious stones so much it’s created a new coffee table book called, funnily enough, Diamonds and Pearls.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana handpicked their favorite clothes and purses from the fashion house’s archives for the book. The selected pieces were given a new lease of life, with sequins, pearls, gold leaf, and of course, dazzling Swarovski diamonds.  The jazzed-up fashions were then draped over life-sized mannequins, and shot by Austrian photographer Guenter Parth.

“Glamour and luxury. The essence and the evolution of our fashion are reflected in the pictures in this book,”  Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a statement.

The Diamonds and Pearls book is available for $270 from your nearest Dolce & Gabbana store. It’s a hefty sum, but it’s money you can feel good spending. All proceeds will benefit the children’s charity, Butterfly Onlus Foundation.

Jimmy Choo is known as a modern designer with an eye for the classics. I know you love his shoes, so get ready to love his handbags, too.

Sometimes it’s hard to pull off the oversized bag trend without looking sloppy, but bags like Jimmy Choo’s Ramona simplify the size by keeping it structured and interesting. The 16″ x 11″ x 6″ size is great for toting all your take everywhere items, although since there is no zipper at the top, you might not want to pack it all in there.

I love the huge goldtone eyelets laced through with leather that give the Ramona its drawstring effect. The main compartment closes with a simple strap with gold logo closure. Ordinarily, I don’t love huge logo plates, but the closure on this bag is so simple and well designed that it doesn’t detract from the bag at all. In fact, I think its center placement draws interest in an elegant way.

The double straps are thick and would be comfortable held by hand or work over the shoulder. The soft leather exterior opens onto an even softer moleskin suede interior, accented by an interior logo plate. Since I think the only serious drawback of the bag is the mostly open top, I really like that there is an interior zipper pocket and two patch pockets to keep your things in place and organized.

At about $2,800 retail, the Ramona is a pretty hefty investment, but one that might be worthwhile for a woman with edgy taste looking to add a little dash of class to her wardrobe.

Inject a little style into your wardrobe with this cute Round n Round doctor satchel from Joe’s Jeans.

The luxurious pebble leather features an oversized quilted pattern and large button details. Two structured handles look fabulous, but they will restrict you to handheld carrying. This is a little inconvenient for such a big bag, limiting this satchel’s use to those days when you’re not on the go. You won’t notice it when you’re in the office, but it’s a different story if you have errands to run.

While the handles aren’t so practical, the interior certainly is. There are plenty of pockets to organize all your essentials, including a zippered compartment and a cell phone slip. The key fob is another handy touch, but my favorite is the mirror. The attached compact is just the thing for those emergency touch-ups!

I only wish there were more colors to choose from. There’s nothing wrong with basic black, but a bag with such individual style deserves some vibrant shades to match!
