This cute bargain purse by Soapbox looks like something that would be worn if Elle Woods played a cameo in Sex and The City!

I don’t actually know if this retro inspired case is aimed at adults with a love for all things Audrey Hepburn, or at little girls with an early love of fashion. I presume that maybe this is one of the few fun handbags that could easily be aimed at both. The feminine print will bring a quirk into any vintage outfit; tartan always works to make a simple structure into something quite classy. The inclusion of the girly pink shade just improves in the individual nature of this purse.

Many people will argue that tartan is for winter and winter alone. If you subscribe to this point of view then this will definitely be a seasonal bag, although at just $39.99 you will still get a lot of bang for your buck.

Obviously the solid frame shape of the Audrey means you can’t fit endless amounts into it, but also that it will hold its shape and keep looking elegant no matter what you cram in.

OK, so there is nothing particularly remarkable about this cheap as chips handbag. But I think that it deserves a chance for the great retro looks and simple shape!

Eenamaria set us up to have some serious expectations when it called this wristlet the Girlfriend’s Bestfriend. But I’m just not sure this one’s worth the hype.

Sure, the styling is cute and just as retro as we’d expect from the brand. There’s nothing new about the bold cross design and the glossy contrasting colors, but it’s a look that Eenamaria does well. The removable wrist strap is handy too, helping the Girlfriend’s Bestfriend convert from wristlet to clutch depending on the occasion.

But Girlfriend’s Bestfriend may be overstating the point. The press-studded panel looks great, but your tune is sure to change when you need to actually use the purse. You’ll need to pop open the studs before unzipping the clutch. Of course, by then it’s likely your phone will have stopped ringing.

If a purse were really my best friend, it’d be bigger too. The interior would have a few pockets, rather than this minimalist design, although it’d be just this shade of red. And rather than a wrist strap, it’d have a more practical shoulder strap.

For fans of Eenamaria, the distinctive good looks and $25 price tag will be convincing enough. Personally though, I’d prefer to enjoy Eenamaria’s style on another, more functional, bag.

Target has released a sneak peek of its next designer collections line, a collaboration with British brand Liberty of London.

The collection is one of Target’s largest designer collaborations, with clutch purses and day bags slated for release alongside apparel, homewares, and garden accessories.

The items feature Liberty of London’s signature prints and delicate mini-florals, patterns which are both classic and right on trend.

“I am thrilled by the way Target has interpreted the flower power of Liberty by mixing, in a very modern way, our heritage prints with the widest ever range of products from lingerie to design chairs to bicycles,” Liberty of London’s chief executive Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye said. “The collection is a very youthful interpretation of the love and rebellion values that Liberty of London stands for.“

The Liberty of London for Target collection will hit stores across the United States, including Target online, on Sunday March 14. Selected pieces will also be available at Liberty of London boutiques.

Donald J Pliner makes the most of buttery Nappa leather with the Palma satchel.

This skin is already stunning in sky blue, but the ruched panels make it even more appealing. I love the way the gathers add texture and drama to the fairly traditional satchel shape. Being a luxury purse we see ruching on the front and back, and even on the side pockets.

These pockets are perfect for stashing the small items you need on hand. After all, the Palma’s interior is so large, it’s easy to lose things inside! Donald J Pliner does his best to help us out by packing pockets into the side walls, but there’s only so much he can do.

The handles are long enough, but Donald J Pliner offers even more versatility with a longer shoulder strap. This helps the Palma work as a cross-body purse and a shoulder bag. This strap is removable too, so you can easily convert it from one style to the next.

This sky blue shade is beautiful, but I’m not sure how well it will wear. Metal feet will go some way towards protecting the pastel-colored base from scuffs and stains, but I’m still nervous. If you are too but still love the look, consider the Palma in black.

This Superbowl ad has landed Hyundai in hot water with the famously litigious French fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

The commercial shows that the Hyundai Sonata is a luxury item available at an affordable price by presenting a yacht parked in an ordinary neighborhood, cops chowing down on caviar, and street athletes using a Louis Vuitton logoed ball. The ball is on screen for just a second or two, but it’s enough to have LV up in arms. The brand has filed a trademark infringement suit in Manhattan Federal Court, commenting that its logo is “famous and incontestable.”

It’s certainly not the first time Louis Vuitton has launched legal action to protect its brand. The label has sued musicians Britney Spears and Danity Kane, action website eBay, Google, and a group raising funds to assist people in Darfur. If charities aren’t even safe from Louis Vuitton, I can’t imagine that Hyundai will be!

This Donna Sharp Hipster bag is a world away from Abas’ Becca we looked at recently. While the Abas bag is all luxury, this Donna Sharp cross body is cheap and cheerful.

While Donna Sharp skimps on the materials, the designer doesn’t skimp on quality. The Hipster is basic but well made. The styling isn’t all that exciting, so it’s left to the patterned fabric and metal capped tassel to jazz things up. I love the girlish charm of this spotted Pink Lemonade print, but Donna Sharp offers many more designs if this one isn’t for you.

I was surprised to see so many practical features included for this price. I wouldn’t ordinarily make use of an external slip, but since it’s placed on the back I feel a lot more confidence. The pocket will set against your body, naturally protecting your keys and loose change. If you’d prefer more security, look inside. This fabric lined space closes with a zip for your peace of mind.

For $30 you don’t get a lot of bag for your dollar. It may be small by modern standards, but the Hipster is well appointed and quite cute. Pair it with jeans and a retro tee for a fun, casual look.

Miu Miu really runs the gamut from super weird, almost unwearable garments to super ladylike, ultra-elegant pieces. This Bugatti Glazed leather tote is of the latter variety, and it is a lovely example, at that.

The off-white glazed leather adds a striking appeal to a demure, feminine style. The shape of the bag is classic, but with modern detailing. The pleating at the front of the bag adds softness to the smooth leather, and the straps on the sides add a bit of edginess to an otherwise very feminine handbag.

The interior of the bag is lined in luxe black satin twill and has an internal zipped pocket, in addition to the exterior zipped pocket. This is slightly fewer organizational compartments than I would prefer, but overall, I really like everything about this bag besides the price. At $1,450, I just think it’s a little too much.

The label does add some lacing down one side, however, although generally I feel this wasn’t particularly needed. Betsey Johnson also couldn’t resist putting in a dramatic lining, once again making me think that sometimes she needs to take a step back and avoid over-designing a great concept!

Over-designing aside, this is a fun bag with a reasonable price tag, and its retro inspiration will ensure its trends don’t go out of fashion easily.

We’ve seen many handbags built on structured frames, but I’ve never seen anything that looks quite like this Bodhi satchel!

While most designers try to keep the frame hidden or show just a hint of metal edge, Bodhi makes it the feature. A soft leather pipe frame extends right around the edge of the satchel, affixed with brushed brass hinges. These hard metal clamps contrast deliciously with the quilted lambskin body and frame.

Once you look past the unique frame, this is a relatively traditional bag. By keeping the quirks to a minimum, Bodhi is sure to attract some new fans here. They’ll love the spacious zippered pocket up front, and the practical interior space. “It’s always been said that women have a love of handbags and this research proves that,” explained a research spokesperson. “But it seems it’s important for girls to have a bag for every occasion, and even for every outfit, to make sure they are always co-ordinated.“
