Accessories label ZeMis has taken its inspiration from the Serengeti for its new spring/summer collection. The safari-styled handbags are made from luxury fabrics embellished with African beads.

Whiting & Davis is getting more and more creative with its mesh handbag designs, and the Graphix clutch takes that creativity into the swinging sixties.

The vintage vibe doesn’t just come from the swirling black and silver psychedelic patterns built into the slouchy metal mesh body. It also comes from that gorgeous smooth black Lucite handle, which gives the textured metal body a neat solid border. Not only is this graphically pleasing, but it makes the clutch easier to hold and carry.

Most people like the metal mesh designs favored by Whiting & Davis. This clutch is no different, being a shiny crowd pleaser that thanks to the $235 price tag shouldn’t run the risk of being on every arm in the room. What I am disappointed with, however, is the fact that this 60s inspired purse doesn’t have a convenient optional shoulder strap; it makes it just that little more impractical.

Rebecca Minkoff isn’t unfamiliar with creating cute and tiny mini bags for her day job. However, this royal blue and brown satchel really takes the biscuit in terms of design.

An unusual color combination is always a good place to start when creating an attractive yet individual handbag. I have always been a fan of a beautiful royal navy with a contrasting yet coordinating tone, and I feel that it really inspires an aura of sophistication in this little handbag. Add to that an already refined satchel shape and pretty basket-weave pattern, and you get a perfect combination of cute and classy.

Of course, cute it may be, but this is still a very small handbag. Many people enjoy miniature versions of everyday things, but it is unlikely that you will like it quite as much when you have too much to fit in. Don’t get me wrong; it isn’t so small it is non-existent, but the Mini Mini satchel is definitely smaller than most other functional handbags.

Cute and affordable at $30, this offers designer looks at a bargain basement price.

This feminine shopper is the most recent addition to the sexy Neves line.

I love these bags. As a massive fan of stylized flowers on handbags anyway, it was unlikely that I would see a tote constructed entirely out of a large flower with a copious amount of layers and simply not be swayed. However, if you are after something sleek and elegant then this probably isn’t it; it has too many sweet ruffles and pieces to ever be truly streamlined.

Although the girly design and ruffled shape are perfect for this season’s trends, I find it interesting to note the colors Nine West has chosen to use in the Neves shopper. You won’t see any effeminate pastels or pale shades here; the only options that stylish brand give you are strong red and spring yellow. It is refreshing change, no doubt about it, but not that likely to coordinate with anything currently on sale in the High Street.

Sophisticated and suitable for work and fun, this is a stylish shopper perfect for looking swish on your trip to the shops. And the price of around $79 isn’t all that bad either!

Giuseppe Zanotti generally goes for very expensive and very eccentric designs, yet this clutch is actually quite subtle! What a rarity!

Everything about this purse begs for attention, from the unusual half-moon shape to all those glittering transparent gems. The Lucy is covered in sparkling stones, but the choice of clear jewels makes it look less gaudy than colored rhinestones might. It also means you can carry the Lucy with any evening outfit, no matter what its color.

A vintage style kiss lock closure keeps the leathery lined interior secure, although I’m not sure what you’ll have in there to keep safe! It’s a small space made smaller with its half moon shape and structured design. Helena de Natalio takes slouchy to new levels with this lush Sofi satchel.

The Argentinean leather is gorgeous with its subtle grain and buttery soft finish. This sumptuous fabric helps the Sofi to slouch in all the right places. This gives the satchel a devil-may-care nonchalance which is oh so appealing.

At least, it is while you’re carrying it. While it’ll look very Euro-chic while you’re strutting around the High Street, the Sofi will lose that appeal the moment you sit it down. The unstructured design will simply become a puddle of luxury leather, a shadow of its former self.

The interior is also disappointing considering the Sofi’s size. A single cell phone pouch and a keychain are woefully inadequate for a bag of these dimensions. Some may argue the only things you need to find in a hurry are your phone and keys, but I personally need many more pockets.

It’s up to you whether you buy a handbag to look good over your shoulder, or whether you care about more practical concerns. At $495 though, a relatively affordable price for a luxury leather handbag with European pedigree, I don’t mind making a few sacrifices!
