Caracalla Bagaglio is a line of Italian leather bags created by Simon Jordan, the director of independent British sportscar showroom Cortese. His luxury accessories are design to complement his favorite automobiles.

Caracalla Bagaglio is named after the Terme di Caracalla racing circuit, the site where Ferrari took its first race victory in 1947. The label’s centerpiece is the Commemorative Motorsport Collection, which pays tribute to other key moments in racing history. There’s the Moss No. 7 bag, which pays homage to Sir Stirling Moss’ victory at Goodwood in 1961. Just like his Ferrari 250 SWB, the handbag is a deep shade of blue bearing the lucky number 7. Another is the Jaguar LM No. 20, a British Racing green bag which remembers Jaguar’s victory at the 1951 Le Mans 24-Hour Race.

Each Commemorative Motorsport bag is handcrafted in Tuscany using the finest leather assembled using traditional methods. Each piece mimics the colors and racing livery of the car it was inspired by. The range is also endorsed by the original drivers, many of whom own the bags themselves.

J. Furmani responds to our modern lust for metal with this studded handbag.

This isn’t the best studded handbag I’ve seen. It’s not made of real leather, but that’s no surprise when it costs just $30. I’m far more disappointed in the quality of this imitation skin. It’s not very soft, and rather than a natural luster the finish has a tacky gloss. This green shade is gorgeous, but the washed out yellow bag is less appealing.

I can’t complain about the studs though. The polished accents are larger than the average, with a unique domed finish. This three-dimensional look is one we don’t typically see in studded bags, and that might just make it last longer than the trend.

If it doesn’t though, I wouldn’t be too broken-hearted. At just $30, you can easily replace it with the next new look once the fad has passed. And until then, you’ve got a cute, on-trend handbag with plenty of space to spare!

Hello Kitty merchandise swings neatly between utterly tacky, and actually rather cute. Thankfully this affordable red patent handbag comes down in the “cute” corner of the court!

Although you don’t get real patent leather for this glossy red bowler, you don’t particularly need it. After all, this brand is all about having fun, and as long as the color is bright and the patent shiny then you should have all you need. If you look closely at the patent that is where you can see the Hello Kitty branding, with little embossed Kitty heads. This is probably why the bag manages to stay within the realms of good taste – it is subtle, but still fun.

Other than the ruby red shade and the embossing, there are yet more cute additions. The little handles may be impractical for a bowler, but they do look sweet. Even better the black trimmed bow accessory adds a feature and makes the purse very harajuku and adorable!

With a cute dust-bag and reasonable price of $62, this may be the perfect bowler if you just want to have fun.

Few bargain basement bags offer the sparkle of this KC Malhan Swirl Clutch.

The name comes from the beaded spirals which swirl about over the sequined body. The pairing of beads and sequins always looks a bit glitzy, but if you like that sort of thing it’ll be right up your alley.

Aside from the embellished body, this Swirl clutch is pretty basic. The foldover flap design is nothing new, and there aren’t a lot of extra features. There’s no shoulder strap, and not a lot of space either. I appreciate the secure zippered pocket, a more usable compartment than the small slips we usually see, but there’s little else of practical value.

But for just $24, perhaps I’m being picky. It is fully lined, secure, and a real eye-catcher. I’d probably proceed with caution if you’re a mature bagista, but its glittering style and fruity tones are perfect for young fashion fans.

Kavu offers a practical purse without the flash in its Hobart Satchel.

While it’s called a satchel, the name is a bit of a misnomer. The tall cylindrical shape is like no satchel that I’ve ever seen, and its long, adjustable strap is more typical of a cross-body bag. Yet no matter what it’s called, the Hobart has the stuff to satisfy casual hikers.

The soft fleece lined interior can protect a small camera, cash, and other tiny odds and ends. There’s a small pocket inside, and two more on the front. There’s not enough space for carrying everything you’ll need to scale a grand summit, but that also means it won’t weigh you down. Personally, I’d rather travel light when I’m braving the wild.

The strap is removable, although I’m not sure why. This isn’t the kind of stunner that would really work as a clutch after all. While the feature may be confusing, it’s not a dealbreaker.

This bag is no head-turner, but it’s not meant to be. However, the meager $30 price does buy a functional accessory for exploring the great outdoors or the urban jungle.

British luxury brand Dunhill has offered a futuristic take on traditional suitcases with its new Aluminum luggage range.

These striking cases resemble the kind of travel bags Dunhill created in the days of Art Deco, but their polished metal finish is something all new. Each case is made from sheets of aluminum and hand-riveted for an edgy, industrial look. Metal always looks heavy, but by stripping the material back to basics Dunhill has created luggage that’s surprisingly light. That combines with the sturdy design to make the suitcases more practical than you might expect, although for the four-figure price I’d expect nothing less.

Dunhill has created three differently sized cases priced from $1165 to $1305. The smallest is equivalent to a briefcase, while the largest is a more traditional suitcase size. The shiny Dunhill suitcases are available in very limited quantities, so if they’ve stolen your heart you’ll need to be quick!

Oryany Handbags delivers a boho bag with attitude in the Eva mini bag.

Fringed bags are typically floaty, hippie affairs, but Oryany toughens the look with shiny silver hardware. The layer of fringe near the curved crescent base is attached with grommets, and each tassel is dotted with a shiny stud. We see more hardware on the strap, a large linked chain. Shoulders will pay for the edgy look, but it works well with this modern boho interpretation. If it troubles you, just attach the longer, all-leather cross-body strap.

Packrats may be disappointed with the Eva’s petite stature, but I think such a distinctive looking purse works best on a smaller canvas. Oryany does its best to provide everything we need though, with several wall pockets helping to keep the Eva uncluttered and serviceable.

Oryany has created several Eva bags, but I think this one is the best. In the large size there are just too many tassels, and it seems like overkill. In the gold color the Eva is similarly overdone. The metallic shade just seems too gaudy when paired with all that hardware. Here though, Oryany has perfected the look, which helps us forgive its practical limitations.

Fendi isn’t a line that I normally associate with a DIY aesthetic, but they shocked us all by announcing their new DIY baguette kit a few weeks ago. It was supposed to be available only at Neiman Marcus, but now the bag and its accompanying kit have hit the shelves at other stores.

The bag itself is the traditional Fendi baguette in simple khaki canvas. It has the signature flap front closure and Fendi logo hardware in light gold. Honestly, it’s just not that much to look at on its own. Without the fancy Fendi touches, it looks like a pared-down knock-off.

But what’s interesting about the bag is what you can do with it. It comes with a full embroidery kit including needles, thread, thimbles, and design tips. Basically, this baguette can be anything you want it to be. You could stitch hearts and stars all over it or zebra stripes, as your fancy compels you.

I would ordinarily stand behind this sort of punk rock approach to fashion design, but for $995, I just don’t want to have to do this much work, and the base structure of the bag isn’t interesting enough to warrant the price. This is a gift for serious Fendi aficionados with a lot of extra money to spend.

Yves Saint Laurent is part of the French fashion trinity, and his designs are almost always, timeless and perfect. Which is not to say that they are overly traditional or stuffy. The shape of the Muse is almost more bowler than tote, which is really interesting and appealing. The gold hardware looks great against the crackled cream leather, and all the subtle details of this bag give its sportiness a decidedly upscale attitude. The Muse isn’t just attractive, though, it also has a lot of practical details that make it covetable including protective feet on the base and a reinforced lining.

At $1,995, the Muse is a sophisticated bag at a sophisticated price, but it’s definitely worthwhile if you’re in the market for an investment bag that will be stylish for years to come.
