Botkier is famous for creating high-quality purses at prices more reasonable than its European competitors. At $495, this is another relatively affordable handbag from the American label.

Quirky British designer Lulu Guinness is offering her handbags to fans across the pond with the launch of her new American website. To celebrate this week’s launch, Lulu Guinness has released a limited edition Stars and Stripes Lips clutch.

The snakeskin purse, featuring Lulu’s favorite lips motif, is an online exclusive for to be sold during May only. At $595 the clutch is a little expensive, but its original style and limited edition status help make it worth the splurge. We’re used to seeing weird and wonderful purses from Bodhi. In comparison to most of the label’s bags, this Pebble Clutch is almost tame! While that might disappoint some Bodhi fans, it should also attract some bagistas who’d previously dismissed the brand.

Here Bodhi has struck the right balance between innovative style and usability. The buttery soft pebble leather body begs to be held. Its squishy body is offset by teeny tiny pleats around the top of the clutch. The look actually reminds me of the cuffs on an old windcheater, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing! It’s definitely cute and quirky.

The look is really the selling point here, although those who fall for it won’t be disappointed by the space and features inside. We’re generally lucky to find one pocket inside a clutch, so I was impressed to see zip, patch, and cell phone pockets here. If you load up this sizable purse it might get heavy, but the wrist strap at the side should help ease the strain.

It might deliver more than the average clutch, but at almost $300 it probably should.

$645 is a lot for any handbag, let alone a small designer wallet. The problem I have with purses like this is seeing past the expensive status symbol price tag, and to the design that lies beneath.

If we forget the price for now, however, then this Continental is actually quite a unique and beautiful wallet. The contrast of colorful floral silk against the undeniably glorious vintage crafted leather not only works in terms of color contrast, but as a great juxtaposition between textures. Thanks to the distinctive looks you could even double this up as a luxury clutch for nights when you don’t need to carry much.

Of course, this is more than just a wallet; it features all the compartments and card slots you would expect, but it does have a roomy center section. If you are planning to use this as a full blown handbag, however, then you will no doubt be disappointed, as it will fit only minimal items inside.

Everything about this Balenciaga wallet screams luxury, from the silk to the patent to the cute branded labels; however, is that worth the $645 price tag?

I have mostly been liking Juicy Couture’s bags lately. The label seems to be making its accessories line a little more sophisticated and streamlined. This hobo, however, is not a particularly good example of that change.

While this hobo is more elegant than many of the bags in Juicy’s brightly colored, overdecorated past, it isn’t exactly the epitome of chic. The patent leather material is awesome, and the shape of the bag is basically perfect, as far as I’m concerned, but the details ruin it. Some of them are just ill-suited to the bag and some of them are just plain ugly and all of them together is just too much.

The strap around the top of the hobo, for example, looks really awkward because it gathers some of the leather like a drawstring. Since it isn’t actually functional, it just looks messy. But it’s the little straps in the corners of the bag that are really killing me. The patent is so nice and glossy and they really break up its smooth texture. And for no reason, because they are purely decorative.

I could go on about the zipper and the handle and other things I don’t like about this bag, but I won’t. It’s a $380 example of what can happen when you start with good materials and then try to do too much with them.

This Bally tote is a rare bag indeed. It is one of those handbags that costs more than my car did, yet which I can totally understand people buying. It is an everything bag, the one bag a woman should own, the creation that will see you from work to parties and everything in between.

Perhaps that this bag is produced by such a legendary handbag designer explains the sophistication and simplicity of the design. The Vevay would only be produced by a company who had utter faith in what it’s producing, and it really shows. The calfskin leather is the first hint at the incredible luxury, soft and flexible and delicious. Then comes the hardware, in a timeless gold shade that manages to look classy rather than tacky.

Whilst there isn’t anything particularly fashion forward about a large leather tote (aside from the absurdly high price tag of $1000), that means you can rest assured that it will never ever go out of fashion. Essentially, thanks to the superior craftsmanship, it will stay faithfully by your side for years and years to come. What I wouldn’t give to be given one of these beauties!

Big Buddha brings some extra versatility to the studded trend with the Donna tote.

The simple tote shape is paired with a dramatic studded body. The mix of gold and silver-toned round and pyramid studs is surprising, but I think it works well. After seeing so many bags covered in classic studs, the variety here helps set the Donna apart. What a shame this look wasn’t continued on the back of the bag though. I suppose if we feel like playing it safe we could carry the plain side out, but it does feel like Big Buddha cut some corners here.

I’m much more enthusiastic about the versatile carrying options the label provides. Dual handles see the Donna work as a shoulder bag. But attach the longer strap and you’ve got a cross-body carry-all. The sides of the tote fold over in this mode to create a whole new look.

The Donna’s convertible nature makes it seem almost like two bags in one. Bargain hunters will be pleased that this versatility comes for the reasonable price of just $90.
