Tignanello injects some glamour into the traditional boho hobo with its appropriately named Glam bag. But is it really as stylish as it sounds?
It’s definitely no red carpet diva, but it does have more polish than your average hobo handbag. The buttery soft leather is stunning; it gives the Glam the slouchy silhouette we expect to see but so much more style. The squared off shape is another welcome change from the classic crescent. The look gives the Glam a day to night versatility; while it won’t suit mingling with high society it’s perfectly appropriate for cocktails with the girls or dinner with your main squeeze.
Such a versatile bag needs plenty of space if we’re going to carry it from work to our social engagements, and Tignanello delivers on that score too. Plenty of pockets help make this sumptuous satin lined space very user friendly.
My only concern is the color palette. When I think glamour I imagine sexy black, charcoal gray, or deep blood red. Instead Tignanello delivers white, sunshine yellow, or peridot. These summery hues will work during the day, but many of us will struggle to accessorize them with our evening attire.

With a name like the Tribal Master, you might expect this Tano messenger bag to be a mix of ethnic prints and vivid colors. However, in actuality nothing could be further from the truth.
There’s something classic about a balloon bag that is irresistible. Because it’s not classic in a brown leather, old lady handbag sort of a way, it’s just a sleek style that has managed to keep returning decade after decade. This waxed leather version by Miu Miu is a great example of what a balloon bag looks like when it’s done right.
I should admit from the get-go that I have mixed feelings about this bag. Marni has traditionally been one of my favorite accessories lines, but lately I’ve been feeling a little bit wishy-washy about the label. Perhaps because bags like this leather and quilted nylon tote are a little wishy-washy in and of themselves.
Studs, some people say, have been overdone. They are too much of an ironic statement nowadays to still be truly fashionable. However, I think that as long as you find something new to do with them they can still be pretty cool.
