Lanvin’s clothing line is often cutting edge, but it tends to keep its accessories very classic. Not classic in a boring way; it just seems to know when to say when when it comes to the trends. This Dear Danae bag is cutting edge in the best possible way. It combines a traditional look with unique and versatile design features.

I love the combination of camel and taupe leathers on the Dear Danae. Even though they are both pretty standard neutrals, the blend somehow makes each color seem richer and more interesting. The textural contrast is also great. The camel has a cracked, but glossy look, while the taupe is softer and more matte.

The design of the Dear Danae is really masterful. The front pouch pocket is removable so that you can use it as a clutch. This makes the Dear Danae perfect for packing. You could use it as an overnight bag, and have the convenience of an evening bag attached. The whole look comes together perfectly, no matter how you decide to carry it.

I would usually protest at the Dear Danae’s $1790 price tag, but since it’s at least two bags in one, it might just be worth it.

Cleobella takes fringing out of the sixties with this unique Florence satchel.

The short, diamond shaped fringing is more biker chick than flower child. The finish is used all over the bag to ensure the black leather looks anything but basic. It adds volume and texture, and above all style. It’s too edgy to win everyone over, but I love this modern interpretation of a classic feature.

Cleobella backs it up with plenty of space and functional features. The pockets are trimmed with leather, and the woven ikat lining should last longer than the average. A slightly sunken zipper pocket offers security, while the long shoulder straps make carrying a breeze.

The Florence’s $520 price tag is just what I’d expect for a bag of this quality. I expected leather for this money, but not as much individuality. Cleobella’s definitely proving that it’s a new fashion house to be reckoned with. I like the subtlety of this black bag, but the texture is more visible on the paler gray and tan versions. Whatever color you choose, pair this satchel with your favorite jeans and wait for the compliments to roll in!

With Christian Dior remaining tight-lipped on John Galliano’s replacement, the fashion industry rumor mill is in a frenzy. Women’s Wear Daily reports that advisers to LVMH’s Bernard Arnault have submitted a star studded list of candidates for consideration.

The list features such industry heavyweights as Riccardo Tisci, Tom Ford, Olivier Theyskens, Alber Elbaz, Prabal Gurung, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Haider Ackermann, and Sarah Burton. Many of these names were no brainers, including Elbaz, Theyskens, and Tisci, who was falsely rumored to have already signed on the dotted line. The Givenchy creative director is said to be one of Delphine Arnault’s favorite designers, but having the boss’ daughter on side is no guarantee of a contract.

However Sarah Burton’s inclusion is an interesting one. Many thought her dedication to Alexander McQueen and his fashion empire would exclude her, but that may not be the case. If she does indeed design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, as rumored, then she’ll be an even hotter fashion commodity. Bernard Arnualt is a massive fan of the royal family, and would be keen to capitalize on the buzz the dress would generate.

So as you can see we’ve got a lot of rumors and not a lot of substantiated claims. Christian Dior is certainly keeping us guessing!

Spring has sprung and floral purses are popping up as rapidly as the new season’s blooms. Clara Kasavina gives us a unique take on the trend with this Gardenia Puff purse.

Rather than cover her bag in flowers Clara Kasavina restricts them to the hand sculpted metal plate at the top. The silver petals are adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls, just to make sure you don’t overlook them! The metal plate is artfully supported by the voluminous foiled lambskin body. I love the hint of sparkle here; it’s alluring but stops short of being gaudy.

Nobody buys a Clara Kasavina purse because it’s practical, but this one isn’t as useless as many evening bags. It’s got a decent amount of space by party purse standards, and its hand-sewn silk lining should stay put. I’m pretty sure that Swarovski embellished chain won’t feel good on your shoulders, but it is stylish and convenient.

Clara Kasavina purses never come cheaply, and at $795 the Gardenia Puff is no exception. Personally my social calendar isn’t crowded enough to justify spending so much on an after-five accessory, no matter how lovely it is. How about you?

Fashion fans will no longer need to travel to New York or Tokyo to shop at rag & bone. The modern label will open another American store on M Street in Georgetown, Washington D.C. next month. It will join the franchise’s existing five stores, including those in various New York locations, including SoHo and West Village, and the international store in the Japanese capital.

The 1500-square-foot space will offer men’s and women’s apparel on its first floor, and shoes, handbags, and other accessories on the second. It has an elegant exterior with a black façade and signature gold leaf logo. Inside the boutique has a modern, edgy aesthetic with distressed concrete floors, exposed brick walls, and visible steel structural beams.

David Neville, the managing partner of rag & bone said that opening the Washington D.C. boutique felt like the “next natural step” for the brand. After all, the store is located relatively close to the company’s New York headquarters, which will help the business foster a relationship between the new store and its clientele.

We all hear that we need a bikini for summer, but what if you’re still carrying a few winter pounds? Well then, why not pick up this Christian Louboutin Bikini Clutch? It’s guaranteed to look good, no matter what your size!

That hot pink color might be too much for some women, but I’m absolutely smitten. The hue is so cheery, and luxurious to boot in authentic watersnake. It might not please animal lovers, but I think this exotic skin is pretty gorgeous. I could have done without the golden signature logo though, as it unnecessarily breaks up those stunning scales. However I know many people will want everyone to know they’re carrying genuine Christian Louboutin!

The exotic good looks will suck you in, but this is a pretty practical purse. Its golden zipper pull doubles as a handy wrist strap. This is a real blessing considering the Bikini is a fairly sizable clutch. I wouldn’t call it oversized, but you can certainly carry a few extra items inside.

At $995 this is certainly an investment piece, but I think that luxury skin makes it an investment worth making. Are you sold?

Christian Dior favors classic style over fashion fads with this wallet, fittingly called Timeless.

This is certainly a purse that plays by the rules. The French style is tried and true, and the golden signature logo is a classic way to brand the design. The color’s called bronze, but it’s nowhere near as garish as most bronze colors I’ve seen. It’s got a bit more sass than brown, but it’s still very elegant.

The Timeless isn’t all about the surface though. Inside you’ll find everything a shopaholic could want, including seven slip pockets, six slots for cards, a double billfold, and an ID case. The fabric and leather linings are luxurious touch, which helps this purse command the big bucks.

Honestly folks, it’s a good thing that this wallet is Timeless because at $590 I want it to last. That’s a lot of money to spend on something that will spend most of its life inside a larger tote, but its traditional style might justify the splurge.

London-based women’s accessories company Capulet knows that men aren’t the only ones swooning over Apple’s new iPad 2. And so it’s created a range of luxury leather cases designed specifically for the new tablet computer.

Capulet’s co-founder Joyce Line said her company aims to offer “stylish and luxurious case options” for the latest gadgets as they enter the marketplace. The label certainly seems to be sticking to its word, as its one of the first brand’s to release a case made with the iPad 2 in mind.

The tech cases are available in four different finishes: elegant taupe Fleur, regal purple Melissa, minty apple green Alison, and earthy snakeskin Marija. Each one is handmade in Europe from the continent’s best calf leathers, and fully lined to protect your tablet. They’ll suit an iPad 2 or original iPad with or without a Smart Cover.

That level of luxury doesn’t come cheaply though. The luxury cases cost £240, which is roughly equivalent to $390 US. Thank goodness Capulet is currently offering free international shipping!

If that’s too rich for your blood you could settle for one of the “environmentally friendly leather” alternatives. They’re nowhere near as opulent, but they’re much easier on the wallet at £95.
