Clippy London has just launched a cute new range of insulated lunch bags for fashion-conscious office workers.

What’s most appealing about these lunch bags is that they look nothing like lunch bags. Instead the Emily, Sophie, and Rose take their cues from the world’s runways. The Emily pictured reminds me a bit of a Chanel bag with its diamond quilting and black patent like finish. The Sophie’s one for girly girls, with its croc-embossed finish in a shocking pink hue. And finally there’s the Rose, a leopard print purse with metallic handles and trim which is nowhere near as demure as its name suggests!

While these Clippy London bags work hard to look fashionable the label hasn’t forgotten what we really need from a lunch bag. Each one is completely insulated to keep food fresh, and lined with an easy-clean fabric. They’re not very luxurious, but at £24.50 they are really cheap. They’re not very large, so anyone with a healthy appetite might struggle, but they should hold your sandwich, a small water bottle, and a few snacks.

Tusk proves that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to enjoy a luxury purse with its Donington cross-body bag.

This really is a lovely creature with its plush Italian calfskin body and clean, crisp lines. The coffee color is a little safe but also very versatile. It’s also not our only option; more daring fashionistas can indulge in red or emerald green.

The design could also be accused of being safe, but I prefer to think of it as elegant. Its small golden tusk motif is a classy way to brand the purse. The complementary stitching helps emphasize the Donington’s refined lines. And I love the unusual golden chain, which snakes along the top of the purse in clutch mode or extends for hand-free wear.

The Donington is quite small, so it may not appeal to many modern girls. However with a duo of card slots and a zippered pouch for coins we could probably leave our wallets at home. That leaves more space for all those other essentials.

I always consider a bag costing less than $100 a bargain. That goes double when it’s made of high quality materials. At $88 this Tusk purse is a steal.

Paco Rabanne gives his iconic 1969 bag a modern makeover with this unusual transparent acrylic version.

The chain mail effect which has been turning heads for decades is made from a mix of silver links and clear acrylic. It certainly makes a statement, although I’m not sure exactly what it’s saying!

Fashion is all about taking risks though, so I applaud Paco Rabanne for taking some here. It would have been all too easy to rest on his laurels and churn out the same It bags he’s produced for years. No doubt they would have been snapped up by girls keen to emulate Bridgette Bardot. This purse is likely to polarize fashion fans, but I also think that makes it exciting.

Sadly though while I appreciate this 1969 bag’s concept, I’m all too aware of its flaws. The chain effect will give us a little privacy but the unlined interior means we can’t completely keep our cargo a mystery. Clear purses always seem a bit cheap, and the use of acrylic doesn’t help its cause.

There’s certainly a place for cheap and cheerful, but I don’t think any expensive bag should ever look cheap. At $1200 Paco Rabanne is charging far too much for a clever concept.

While most celebrities only enjoy a season or two fronting any particular fashion house, it seems Marion Cotillard is still flavor of the month at Christian Dior. This image shows her latest advertisement for the embattled fashion house.

The fashion label has been the subject of speculation of late as it keeps mum on the topic of John Galliano’s replacement. However this ad shows no signs of the strain. Instead it’s cool as a cucumber, with Cotillard pouting provocatively as she clasps her Lady Dior bag.

The actress might have fronted many Dior campaigns over the years, but she’s showing no signs of fatigue. In fact I think she looks fresher than that color-blocked crocodile handbag! The retro effect really doesn’t make the most of the exotic skin, as it appears gimmicky and trend conscious rather than classic.

In contrast Cotillard looks timeless in her black cap-sleeved dress, matching dark fingernails, and blood red lips. And of course the Hollywood sign never ages either! Photographer Steven Klein captured the shot at a Los Angeles house designed by the famed architect John Lautner.

Christian Dior Lady Dior Purses on eBay

Lindsay Lohan and Kristin Cavallari help set the trends in Hollywood, but you don’t need their bulging bank accounts to steal their style. These starlets both love this Splendor Satchel from Moni Moni.

I’m not sure the Splendor is quite as magnificent as its name suggests, but there’s a relaxed charm to it. I really like the distressed treatment of the caramel leather, which makes the bag feel worn in before its time. However I’m less enthusiastic about the grommets decorating the front pocket. They seem tacked on, like an attempt to stay on trend rather than a cohesive design element.

The Splendor certainly does what it’s intended to do though. Its handles are a little short for my tastes, but they’re complemented by a practical cross-body strap. The interior is enormous, but it’s got enough pockets to make the space usable.

We do miss the little touches like protective metal feet and leather trim on the pockets, but their absences aren’t unexpected at this price point. I wouldn’t call this satchel a bargain at $495, but you’ve got to wonder why the celebs choose this purse over one much more expensive. Perhaps there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is almost done and dusted, but we’ve still got time to take a look at one of the many pink products recently released. Krickette has done its part for the cause with the launch of its new Pink Collection.

The line features two clutch purses and a large weekender bag, all patterned with playful pink patterns. They stay true to Krickette’s design aesthetic by taking their inspiration from the designer’s travels around the globe.

I think the weekender is my favorite. The label’s signature pom pom decorations don’t dominate the design on such a large canvas. It’s all about personal taste of course, but I think they make the pink printed zip and pink cross stitch clutches seem a bit cluttered.

If the handbags don’t float your boat you could indulge in the deluxe pink agate necklace or the pom pom tassel.

Ten percent of the sales from the limited edition accessories benefit the You Can Thrive Foundation. The New York charity helps support local breast cancer victims by providing free and low cost services. Its unique model enlists acupuncturists, massage therapists, and other volunteers to help improve the lives of New Yorkers afflicted with disease.

Krickette’s Pink Collection is available until October 31, so you’ll have to be quick to get your paws on the limited edition items!

Romygold reminds us that black leather and metal studs aren’t the only keys to rebel chic with this Biker Slash tote.

This is a really striking purse thanks to its distinctive cut-out leather. It looks like a jealous ex has gone to town with some scissors, or perhaps like some moths have begun to attack it while it was sitting in the cupboard. The punk rock effect makes the ordinarily sedate camel tone seem wild and dangerous. The holey leather is laid over soft suede for extra dimension and cargo security.

Romygold calls this a mini tote, but that’s really a relative term. Personally I think it’d hold everything most people need on a day out, although you may need to play with those items to make them sit right. Those rolled handles should be long enough to sit on most shoulders, but when the tote is full the adjustable cross-body strap will be the most comfortable choice.

This Biker Slash tote is a little bit gimmicky, but its quality materials make its worth its $450 price tag.

With the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo hitting cinemas later this year, plenty of fashionistas will be looking to replicate Lisbeth Salander’s edgy punk-goth style. Swedish retailer H&M will make their job much easier with the release of their new movie inspired fashion line.

We can expect a degree of authenticity in the collection as H&M has enlisted Trish Summerville, the costume designer for the David Fincher flick, for the project. The 30-piece range is dark and moody, with hooded jackets, slashed denim jeans, tribal inspired earrings, and androgynous footwear. The accessories component is a little light on, but we can channel the film’s heroine in the classroom with the battered backpacks.

Summerville said shes “pleased” with the collection, which she feels reinterprets Lisbeth’s essence and strength with a more fashion forward edge. However she wouldn’t suggest women dress head to toe in the new collection.

“The goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style,” she explained.

H&M’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo collection will hit Colette in Paris on November 28 before being rolled out to H&M stores on December 14. Prices start at $3.95 for a pair of earrings and top $199 for a leather jacket.

Patricia Nash gives classic style a modern makeover with this elegant Praga cross-body bag.

In many ways this is like so many cross-body bags, with its traditional flap-over design and ladylike structure. But it’s the more unusual elements that turned my head.

The burnished burgundy leather looks beautiful, almost like it’s been toasted at the edges. The subtle colors in this skin give the soft pleating an extra depth. I also appreciate that those pleats are restricted to just one side. It’s an unusual choice, but that asymmetry helps to set the Praga apart.

Not all Pragas are created equally though. While I love the burgundy and tan shades, the patterned multicolor and prarie floral are too busy for my tastes. What was classic feels kitschy, and the design deserves better. But if you choose wisely though you’ll certainly get your $128 worth.
