I’ve counted myself among Botkier fans for some time now, but I’m starting to like the brand more and more as its newest handbags are released.

Some of the brand’s styles just seems to get better as it evolves, and this Logan shopper is a perfect example, in my opinion. Soft leather, zippers, and tassels aren’t new additions to the label’s signature look, but seem a slightly better improvement upon other styles like the Jackie and Vixen of past seasons. I even kind of like the name better, though that has absolutely no bearing on the quality of design.

Although it’s a fairly simple style of handbag, the Logan shopper has all the makings of a fashionable, well-made accessory. The high-quality, soft leather is what I would expect from a bag that costs a whopping $625. The understated details, however, are what make it current and chic.

Unlike some designs that take tassel and zipper features to the extreme and overwhelm a style, the Logan shopper simply adds a few here and there on the exterior. The tassels function as zipper pulls for the one horizontal and two vertical zippered pockets on the front. I’m not sure how practical two vertical zippered pockets that unzip all the way to the bottom of the bag would be, but they do add a little edge to this otherwise laid-back handbag.

Thankfully the interior of this plush squidgy clutch needn’t be taken up by her teddy, which is instead fastened onto the front.

It is undeniable; this may be perfect for little girls, but it’s therefore bound to be tasteless. The tutu wearing girl-bear on the front just further confirms this fact! That said, it is an innovative way to let your daughter act all grown up whilst still carrying around with her toys that ring loudly of childhood.

The bag itself isn’t a mini version of a sophisticated adult clutch, which I think is a good thing. It has soft comfy handles and a cuddly snuggly plush exterior, meaning that daytime prancing can happily lead into nighttime exhaustion without any trouble!

All in all this is a silly and slightly ridiculous handbag. Consequently, little girls all over the planet are bound to love it.

The funky skull and crossbones transfer brings a hint of individuality to a simple canvas shopper. The symbol never goes out of fashion, and is just as stylish for land-lubbing kitsch lovers as it is for the full blooded pirate-types.

Canvas bags are always a good thing to have around the house, touted as they are for keeping the earth clean and saving the environment. Davy Jones’ Locker won’t be full of ugly plastic rubbish if you use and re-use a bag like this instead! Of course, it is worth remembering that this is as basic as a tote can be, with thin fabric outside and no posh pirate print lining. If you want a bag that will last for years, opt for one with more features than a pretty and probably fading transfer!

This particular bag does come in a variety of colours to keep things exciting, and will be really handy for nipping onshore and catching up on your shopping. A good few eye patches should fit inside this one (am I taking the analogy too far?)! If you want one for even cheaper than the $19.99 price tag, however, then why not think about transferring images onto your own plain bag?

Whiting and Davis are taking a break from its traditional tiny timeless accessories to create something much more contemporary. But don’t think this Python Print Handbag sees the fashion house abandoning its heritage altogether!

Whiting & Davis’ trademark mesh is still a force, but the bold colors and python print pattern give the metal a more modern edge. The gleaming mesh is offset by glamorous black patent leather trim.

A polished patent belt encircles the bag, securing it shut with a turnlock closure. This feature hearkens back to the brand’s vintage heritage, but when combined with the zippered top it makes the purse a little fiddly to get into. At least the safety of your essentials won’t be an issue with these double security features!

The metal shell is lined with signature printed polyester to cushion your precious cargo. The mid-sized space is kitted out with a zippered pocket and two bellowed pouches to help keep the purse free of clutter.

This python bag represents a break from tradition for Whiting & Davis, and one I’m not sure whether its loyal fans will embrace. Although I’m confident the brand will win some new admirers with this walk on the wild side!

Devi Kroell might have a Target diffusion line under her belt, but her newest venture is a far cry from her affordable line of handbags featured in the budget-conscious store. This New York-based designer is moving up in the retail world … specifically to a new flagship boutique in Manhattan’s prestigious Upper East Side.

Since her first collection debuted in 2004, Kroell has been gaining momentum as well as more than a handful of celebrity fans. Fashionistas like Ashley Olsen, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna have carried her luxurious designs, and even Gossip Girl has caught the Kroell fever.

The award-winning designer has earned her spot on New York City’s Madison Avenue, and the real estate couldn’t be more impressive. Exotic skin handbags, jeweled clutches, gorgeous shoes, and other items are impeccably displayed in the two-story flagship store.

“I wanted to create an airy, secluded space where shoppers could have a serene experience and take in the pieces at their own pace,” the designer says.

Hopefully this is one fashion brand whose sales and success will continue to rise rather than dip into dangerous territory necessitating layoffs and store closings. Be sure to check out the new boutique at 717 Madison Avenue next time you’re in the Big Apple.

A bright colorblock pattern is nothing new for a L.A.M.B. handbag, but I wouldn’t call it the brand’s signature style. However, the bold look fits right in with Gwen Stefani’s strong fashion sensibility so easily seen in L.A.M.B.’s products.

Although the Darjeeling collection of handbags is by far my favorite colorful geometric design from the label, this Clara hobo is a fantastic alternative to the bright option. The color options are slightly more subtle, if anything from L.A.M.B. can be classified as such. The black, red/black, and green/gold variations are very art deco and so chic.

The simple shape of the Clara keeps anything from competing with the colorblock pattern, which is the real attraction of the purse. It isn’t exactly a large hobo, but the size is decent for average daily use with a standard zippered pocket inside for small necessities.

The interior is lined in L.A.M.B.’s signature black-and-white striped fabric, while the front of this hobo displays the brand’s fancy-script logo on a gold-toned plate. The colorful Clara retails for $325.

While many clutch purses are strictly after five affairs, the contemporary good looks of Treesje’s Metro make it just as appropriate for daytime toting.

Complementary stitching around the borders of the purse and its flap add definition to the buttery soft lambskin. The sexy angular pleating in the centre adds even more structure to both front and back. But I’m not sure about the way the leather seems to bunch irregularly at the sides. A much smoother finish would have looked much more chic.

The Metro doubles up on security, with a zipper and vintage-inspired turnlock clasp. That makes it a little fiddly to get into, especially if your cell phone is ringing, but I still admire the extra safety measures. Open them up to reveal a space which is a little larger than the average. The zippered change pocket and cell phone slip help keep the essentials in order, leaving more space for your other party must-haves.

With all that room inside, it’s strange that Treesje hasn’t included a tuckaway shoulder strap. The styling seems to suggest a purse which suits both daytime and evening wear, but I’d get sick of carrying it in my hand for any extended period of time.

The $350 price tag seems a little steep at first, but when you consider the versatility of this day-to-night clutch it doesn’t seem so outlandish.
