The Badgley Mischka Eve tote is a creatively shaped handbag perfect for those who want a little luxury in their lives.

I do like a good design feature in a handbag; it makes it stand out from the crowd, and into more of a conversation point. In this particular hobo the design feature is that oversized ring handle, which works well with the tear drop body. It does manage to bring a certain easy-going boho vibe to the bag, but thankfully the sumptuously soft leather body counteracts any “casual” impression the shape may give.

Of course, I wouldn’t be such a fan of the handles if they were the only carrying option that Badgley Mischka deemed us deserving of. After all, it wouldn’t be that comfy for what is a decently spacious bag. Thankfully we are also given a shoulder strap, and although the chain detailing doesn’t really go with the pleats and plaited detail, it is still very much appreciated.

At $465 this luxury leather hobo isn’t exactly cheap, but it is an elegant and individual way to quietly make a fashion statement.

We can always rely on Etienne Aigner for classic handbags, but its traditional sensibilities can get a little boring. So I was thrilled to come across this Vintage Cut Out Handle Purse, an accessory which adds a little spice to the brand’s time-honored appeal.

The head-turning style comes from the large cut-out handle and the delicate golden Etienne Aigner logo, the perfect foil for Etienne Aigner’s signature brown leather. The design is clean and sophisticated, harkening back to the days of polished Hollywood starlets like Rita Hayworth and Lauren Bacall. Can’t you just imagine one of those bygone beauties carrying this handbag as she shopped on Rodeo Drive? It’s not red carpet ready, but it’s definitely got star quality.

The authentic vintage style is lovely on an aesthetic level, but it does pose its practical problems. It should hold everything you really need though, and you might just feel liberated for traveling lighter.

The SAK embraces boho style with this fun Artist Circle Weekender.

While most weekender bags would look at home in a hotel suite, this one seems to call for a camping site. Its three patterns all scream hippie chic with their tribal markings and peace doves. The prints are very busy, but when paired with the Artist Circle Weekender’s simple slouchy shape they aren’t too distracting. The SAK keeps any other details to a minimum; the tan leather straps and small logo tag are both blessedly discreet.

While hippie types may be initially sucked in by its appearance, the design could be the clincher. Half the exterior and all of the insides are made from recycled fibers, so this bag is almost as eco-minded as it looks. It’s a bit more generous than your typical weekender too, which should suit girls who struggle to travel light. The solid zipper allows us to overstuff this travel bag without too many problems. While the handles look too short for easy carrying, it also comes with a long cross-body strap. This should definitely help out when the Artist Circle is filled to capacity.

At $99, this is a reasonably priced travel bag for girls who love hippie style.

Balenciaga has released its limited edition Motorcycle bag to honor the 10th anniversary of the iconic design. We saw the label release six new bags through Neiman Marcus in May, and now there’s a new “First” bag available through Barneys New York.

This beautiful bag is crafted from lizard-inspired black stamped leather. It features signature Balenciaga brass hardware and a plaque commemorating its anniversary status. Just like the Neiman Marcus bags, it also features a fun leopard print lining. I really prefer this flirty patterned fabric to the boring black linings Balenciaga typically delivers. They’re almost enough reason to indulge in these brand new bags!

It’s hard to believe that ten years have gone by since Nicolas Ghesquiere released the first of these now legendary fringed handbags. I’m really enjoying these modern reinventions though. If you’ve fallen for this Balenciaga First Motorcycle bag you can get it at Barneys New York stores for $1245. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Vera Bradley’s Super Tote!

All jokes aside, this is one mighty tote. It’s super sized and super well appointed, with interior and exterior pockets to spare. That’s a good thing too, because such a roomy handbag takes a lot of effort to keep organized. This Super Tote is up to the challenge, with a massive ten pockets in all. I wish they weren’t all open though, as most of us need secure spaces for storing small valuables. At least many are deep, so our keys and change shouldn’t fall out.

That super design doesn’t really come with super style though; this is the same old thing from Vera Bradley. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the American designer has legions of fans, but if her quilted patterned purses have never wowed you before this probably won’t change your mind.

At $79.95, Vera Bradley gives us plenty of bag for our dollar. It’s sure to find some fans amongst the pack rats, jetsetters, and over-burdened moms out there!

Adidas channels the seventies with this fun retro adiColor Sir handbag.

The nostalgic side of me embraces the look of the bold green patent material and contrasting white accents and piping. It’s also available in a more traditional black and white combo, but I prefer this more unexpected look. Neither is genuine leather, but for a mere $55 I don’t mind. This man-made material has an attractive sheen to it, and it should still stack up to everyday use.

The compact box shape isn’t ideal for a sports bag, but I do love the clean style it brings. You’ll probably be able to fit a change of clothes or even a pair of trainers inside, but you can forget about stashing a tennis racket or other large sporting equipment inside. I do appreciate the large front pocket though; it’s great to have a roomy place for storing your wallet and other valuables away from sweaty sporting goods. I also think the size makes it versatile enough to suit toting away from the gym.

The long strap is another real bonus. It allows us to carry the adiColor Sir over the shoulder or even across the body once it’s loaded up. This easy hands-free styling should definitely appeal to active girls on the go.

Diesel gives us an accessory made for the great outdoors in the Diesel Road 4 Freedom shoulder bag.

This casual bag isn’t the kind of purse you’d spot on the High Street, but there’s a certain rugged charm to it. It’s a bag that’s made to do a job rather than prettily adorn your arm, so it has no need for fuss or frippery. Of course Diesel still proudly emblazons it with a logo, but even that is done subtly in a complementary tone.

The Road 4 Freedom’s real strength isn’t its style but its substance. The fabric is water-resistant and made to last, and those seatbelt-like handles should also go the distance. Inside we find space to spare, and more of Diesel’s usual flair with the metallic silver lining. I’d probably have preferred more pockets to stay organized, but I suppose this is a bag more likely to carry large items than dainty girly goods.

At $125 I think this Diesel shoulder bag is a shade more expensive than it should be considering its materials, but if you’re looking for a bag your boyfriend will happily carry for you this purse might be it.
