Chloe’s Parisian chic is so spot on that it makes me want to run out, buy a beret, and change my name to Suzette. Luckily, I don’t actually have to take things that far to get my hands on some of its style. This Billie leather and linen bag is a great example of how Chloe takes something totally simple and makes it spectacular.

The tan leather on the Billie is so bright that it could almost be considered orange, but that’s not a bad thing. It detracts ever so slightly from the overall versatility of the bag, but the beige linen takes the loud factor down a bit. The black patent piping makes the colors stand out and emphasizes the contrast between them in a really striking way.

The messenger shape isn’t one of my favorites, but I think that it really works here. The buckles conceal magnetic fastenings, so you don’t have to actually deal with the straps to get in and out of the bag, which makes it a lot more useable. I wish the shoulder strap was somewhat more substantial, but then again, I usually do, and the bag isn’t actually big enough that the slimness of the strap will make it really uncomfortable.

At $1,560, the Billie is on the low end of the price scale for designer bags. Its combination of timeless style and striking good looks makes it a good buy.

MyGift is known for doing unusual ruffled handbags. It takes that surreal image even further with this ruffled tote.

At first glance, this tote looks like a bag aflame. Or, perhaps, like some strange and impossible sea creature. All we can conclude is that it doesn’t really look like a handbag, although no one knows if that is good or bad!

Despite taking the mickey, I don’t really have a problem with this metallic tote. It is so extremely affordable, at $24.99, that you can have a little fun with your fashion without worrying about how much you shelled out on it. And there is certainly lots of fun to be had with a bag with such huge synthetic ruffles, so I don’t see why you shouldn’t go out and have some!

Rampage bring chains back in fashion with this Victoria clutch.

In case you hadn’t noticed, lace is everywhere this season. From our shoes to our clothes, it is the coolest fabric at the moment. Rampage has released its take on the theme with this cute nude purse, giving the delicate lace a dose of healthy attitude with that chain decoration. If you aren’t a fan of chains then you may find this a bit tacky, but the stripy design means this is still better than many alternatives on the market.

OK, so this cute purse isn’t made of real leather, which would have been nice. Considering that it isn’t super cheap at $48, we can be forgiven for resenting the label for missing out the luxury of better materials. Still, in the same vein this woven clutch is cheaper than many. Which side you agree with is up to you!

With a useful strap (unexpectedly not in chain), this is a sweet little purse for girly girls with attitude.

I can’t imagine you’ll ever find yourself in a jam carrying this very practical Double Trouble tote from LeSportsac.

That makes its name a bit puzzling. Perhaps it’s meant to refer to the difficulty you’ll have coordinating its vivid prints with the rest of your wardrobe! Because honestly, that’s the only trouble I can see with this tote.

This simply styled tote hides a wealth of functional goodies. A large zippered compartment separates the generously sized interior into three user friendly compartments. As if that wasn’t enough organizational aid, LeSportsac gives us a zippered pocket and slide pouch in the tote’s walls. Two long shoulder straps make this tote perfect for those busy days when you simply need to grab and go.

The $98 price doesn’t buy us a whole lot of luxury, but it does buy a well-made, practical tote with its own distinctive sense of style.

iSkin has released a sleek new computer case for carrying Apple’s newest gadget, the iPad. Called the Aura, it’s said that this sophisticated sleeve “starts where other folios end.”

That may be a bit of marketing spin, but it’s hard not to be impressed by this elegant technology case. Its metallic-brush fabric, in your choice of carbon, bronze, or sienna orange, looks the business, but the Aura’s appeal is more than skin deep.

This clever case transforms into a display stand with a privacy shield to block glare on the screen. When it’s sitting up in one of the three positions you can easily type on it, or show off your videos to friends, or presentations to clients.

The only disappointment for me is the lack of shoulder strap. That’s not entirely unexpected for a laptop sleeve, but that sort of carrying convenience would be nice. At least the Aura’s slim design allows it to slip inside a larger briefcase if you’re facing a long commute.

Lauren Merkin creates a purse that’s a little bit naughty and a little bit nice with this Ava clutch.

The snake-printed leather is pretty in a sugary shade of pink, although I know it won’t suit everyone. There are basic black and warm maize hues available, but my inner girly girl can’t resist this feminine tone. It’s a great foil for the soft pleats on the front flap, although the zippered trim does give this purse a hint of edge.

I’m particularly impressed by the snake embossing. All too often designers fail to recreate the exotic skins they’re inspired by, but not here. In fact, I could easily mistake this for the real deal if I hadn’t already spotted the $295 price tag! That’s not small change, but it’s still a fraction of the cost of a real exotic skin. Using stamped leather doesn’t just keep the price down; it also makes the Ava more durable than it’s more luxurious peers.

The Ava is a fairly large clutch, which makes its lack of shoulder strap disappointing. On the bright side though, at least we can fit everything inside this purse we need on an evening out, and then some.

It’s got its shortcomings, but the Ava is so stunning that we could easily forget about them!

Gucci is one of those labels that instantly brings to mind a whole host of images. Usually it recalls ultra-glamorous images, or sometimes preppy equestrian ones, but it always brings up something. Honestly, this gorgeous Broadway clutch is a little more understated than what I usually associate with Gucci, but it is beautiful, nonetheless.

The low key complexity of the fabric on the Broadway is what it makes it interesting. The silk satin material is sort of a burnished champagne color, which, combined with the glittering crystal embellishments, looks absolutely amazing. Since the background fabric isn’t too bright or shiny, it doesn’t look overdone or showy, just perfectly elegant.

Gucci has also kept the shape of this one super simple, which is a bonus. The foldover style with its flap front is streamlined and really classy, and the size is perfect for fitting nicely in the palm of your hand. This is the kind of accessory that was just made for the red carpet, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I catch a glimpse of one on the red carpet at the Golden Globes this evening.

This is a seriously posh accessory for $2,190, but it’s a style that will remain current forever.

I’m not always a fan of Laurel and Sunset’s cheap and cheerful accessories. All too often it seems that the label cuts corners to keep those prices down. But I may have to change my tune after spotting this impressive Flower Bloom tote.

It’s easy to see where this tote gets its name. A large structured flower is the tote’s centerpiece, and it really shines. The attention to detail is impressive, particularly for the price. Variegated leaves hang beneath the bloom, and woven synthetic makes a lovely pollinated center. The flower is showy, but by choosing that simple earthy brown Laurel and Sunset makes this tote very wearable.

The shape is simple too, but I can’t help thinking of a flower pot when I look at it. I don’t think that’s a bad thing though. It makes it a little more interesting, and its flat base is very practical.

Speaking of practicality, Laurel and Sunset again surpass my expectations on that score. We get a whopping five pockets inside, including one that’s the perfect size for a cell phone. There’s enough room to suit our everyday needs, and the cotton/nylon blend lining should take some beating.

Considering its good looks and functional features, I really don’t know how Laurel and Sunset can offer this tote for $36.95. It’s not the most sophisticated bag on the market, but it is a whole lot of fun.
