I just don’t know what to think about Miu Miu. Sometimes its accessories are so extraordinarily ugly and overpriced that I swear I’m going to stop paying attention to the line altogether, but then sometimes they’re really classic and perfect. Fortunately, this leopard print calf hair clutch is of the latter designation.
I love leopard print, especially when it’s a little subdued and classy instead of being flashy and trashy. The pattern is a little blurred and abstracted, partially due to the print, but partially due to the texture of the calf hair. I don’t always love calf hair, but it’s such a great complement to animal print that I just love it here.
The petite size of this clutch makes it extremely usable. This is the kind of bag you could carry and not feel burdened at all, which makes it perfect for nightclubbing, when you want to dance without setting your bag down. Or, if you’re a light packer like me, it’s just a great everyday bag. The large gold clasp adds a lot of drama to the clutch, and it brings the whole classy but sassy look together perfectly.
Frankly, I think that $950 is a lot to pay for a tiny, simple bag such as this, but it’s cool factor almost makes it seem worth it.

From the cheap and cheerful label Bebe to the high class design house of Valentino, it seems everyone in the fashion world has fallen for rosettes. Mad by Design is the latest label to offer up a rosette covered purse, and at an affordable $50 it’s certainly worth a look.
I haven’t carried a backpack since I left high school, but if Karan Singh Gandhi’s new Androcell backpack ever gets mass produced I may have to reconsider my stance.
You might not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but you can evidently teach a designer to alter its creative vision. If it were in a line-up I never would have picked this Long Beach shoulder bag as a M. Andonia accessory.
Diane Von Furstenberg’s clean version of bohemian American style is as classic as it is iconic. This Philomena clutch shows a slightly more rock ‘n’ roll side of Ms. Furstenberg’s aesthetic.
Frankly, I hadn’t thought of Gucci much since Tom Ford left until recently. In the past season, it’s sort of reappeared on the scene. Gone are the flashy Tom Ford days, though. Gucci seems to be returning to a more classic European aesthetic. This Marrakech bag is a great example of where the line seems to be headed.
